“The Skeletons Are Fighting” has a new announcer - me. It was too perfect of a project, I had to be involved! But I did it for free, I’m not getting anything on the back end, I did it all pro bono. I sanction this contest of skeleton strength (and support indie devs)

Rebecca Heineman needs our help. She’s currently fighting cancer, and I can only imagine how hard that must be. Please consider supporting her. Rebecca worked on many beloved SNES classics at Interplay -- including Another World, The Lost Vikings, Battle Chess and many more.

At this point the spiritual AND financial thing to do is to play indie games on a SteamDeck.

Highly recommend donating to PBS - I do the 60 dollar yearly tier that gives access to PBS Passport, which has seemingly endless amounts of incredible documentaries from Ken Burns and more. Well, WELL worth it.

I want to publicly thank @mattleone.bsky.social for his time nurturing features at Polygon. Everyone knows the incredible oral histories, but in late 2012 I had a scoop and he gave me the confidence to report it out (and got me paid when, coincidentally, their news team got wind of the same story)!

You can compare this to the Xbox One situation but I think Doug Bowser absolutely remembers that when he tried to spin his words about it. At least it's a way nicer way to put it (though at least Switch 2 doesn't force bullshit on anybody aside from price)

Booted into a ubuntu USB stick to root a couple of Fire tablets and install LineageOS. Do not recommend! I mean, rooting and lineage are both fine, but I had a bitlocker scare when coming back since ubuntu required secure boot to be disabled. Then I had to reset my pin, and my clock was all wonky.

Basically confirmation that Switch 1 games will run better on Switch 2 by default, they'll just be beholden to preset limitations like FPS caps, etc. Same deal as PS4 games on PS5.

[Switch 2] Nintendo of Canada is delaying pre-orders "to align with the timing of pre-orders to be determined in the US". Pre-orders in the US were delayed due to the administration's recent announcement of tariffs on countries where Nintendo manufactures their hardware. 🐦 original post

Satellaview data conservation is fascinating, there's a ton of lost Nintendo media (actual games and levels!) still potentially on cartridges in shops and homes, and you don't know until you dump them. These lost F-Zero tracks were recovered after a $2,500 bounty was set (and yes they got paid!).

In a month, P.T. will have been DELISTED for 10 years. It’s probably still the most influential and impactful Silent Hill game. Not the best Silent Hill game, but it left its mark. And it was only available officially for 9 months. That still blows my mind.

There were 48 Cabela games. All but one were released between ’98 and ’13. That’s 3 Cabela games a year for 15 years And then there were the Big Buck Hunter Arcade games and the Deer Hunter series, two completely different series' Not sure what to do with this information but now you have it too

This should've existed ages ago. I’ve already bought Classic Doom and Doom 64 on two Switches. That you need to have a family plan makes this less appealing, but if you can convince 8 friends to all chip in for $60 / $80 a year it could be worth it.
