One of those Reddit-facts that turns out to be true and that since learning it I can’t help but notice everywhere is that we Americans, almost uniquely, lean on things and further cross our legs while standing so that one heel is up in the air. This sounds like bullshit, but now you cannot unsee it.

I miss Periscope terribly and TikTok Live is a poor substitute, but I am currently watching guys play cricket in a Texas shopping center parking lot at 1AM local time.

They keep losing the ball, understandably.

This is absolutely fascinating

“We are on the cusp of giving people a very visible piece of evidence that really upends the neat and tidy ways people think about big moments of cultural change,” Boin said “Cultural changes are never as big as we think they are when living through them, and there’s a lot of gray area in between people’s customs and the broader society and culture. And a lot of those can be left out of the story. So to have this temple potentially be a temple dedicated to Constantice’s divine ancestors as a way to worship the emperor in an increasingly Christian world at the time, it’s so weird and I love that we can bring it to light.”

A long time ago I idly wondered “who were the indigenous population of the British Isles?” and answering that question is so maddening, it made me question the entire concept.

Putting this out into the world expressly so I don’t do it, but I’ve long been meaning to write up something about “mass shooter music,” because it’s absolutely fascinating, but almost certainly some kind of infohazard.
