Are you: - a trans woman or a non-binary person with a prostate? - aged 40+? - on oestrogen and/or post-op for bottom surgery? - based in the UK? The TransPRIDE study invites you to participate in research to inform better trans-inclusive prostate care! transpridestudy.org.uk
Recruitment poster with text that reads as follows. Trans or non-binary?
Join us in research led by and for trans people to improve our healthcare.

TransPRIDE (Trans & non-binary Prostate specific antigen Reference Interval
DEtermination) is a research study to help find the normal levels of the PSA blood test in trans women and non-binary people with prostates.
Prostate specific antigen (PSA) is a blood test that helps detect prostate
problems including cancer.

It is lowered by gender-affirming hormones and surgeries but we do not
know the expected normal levels for trans women and non-binary people.

Knowing the normal PSA blood test level will help doctors to find and treat prostate cancer more quickly in this population.

We are looking for 500 trans women and non-binary people aged 40+ who have been on feminising hormone therapy for at least 3 months, and/or had any kind of bottom surgery, to take part.

Participation involves a blood test for PSA and hormone levels, and short
questionnaires.

Blood test results will be returned, and participants are given a £25 gift
voucher for their time.

For more information visit: transpridestudy.org.uk
Or contact: bartsctu-transpride-study@qmul.ac.uk

One of the basic points in Mills' The Racial Contract (originally published in 1997!) was that, if nothing else, White Supremacy deserves to be taken seriously as one of the great motivating ideologies of modernity and it's bizarre that political philosophers are so disinclined to treat it as such.

A crescent Moon seen during the day, arcing from upper left to lower right of the frame. At lower centre is the full disk of Jupiter; the small dots to its upper left and lower right and Io and Ganymede, respectively.

The Middle Ages in Modern Games @midagesmodgames.bsky.social · 18/06/2026
The CfP for the upcoming #MAMG26 is now live! The event will take place on 5-7 Oct, assynchronously and online. Come join us from anywhere in the world to discuss medievalisms in games and alternative approaches to the ludic past.
In a time of growing political and environmental anxieties, the Middle Ages are often sought as a source of inspiration for alternative futures. Ecologically-minded games like Of Life and Land look to the medieval past to explore alternative, non-exploitative engagements with nature. Medievalist RPGs have long served as possibility spaces for players to interrogate and experiment with notions of sexuality, gender, and identity more broadly. Games like Scriptorium and Traveller’s Rest imagine medieval pasts divorced from the logics of violence often associated with the period. Medievalist fantasy games like Metaphor: ReFantazio openly engage with utopian thinking and our capacities to imagine possible worlds.

We invite analytical ‘papers’ (comprising 400-500 words of text or 5-minute videos) and sessions of 3 to 5 papers which address any aspects of the medieval period or medievalism in any and all forms of modern games. We particularly welcome papers addressing the central conference themes of ‘Possible Worlds’ and ‘Possible Pasts’. The conference will be conducted remotely and there will be no registration fee. To promote accessibility and inclusivity, the event runs asynchronously across time zones.

We encourage submissions from medievalists, games scholars and developers at any point in their career— especially those from Postgraduate Students, Early Career Researchers and members of any groups under-represented within the academy and industry. We welcome pieces addressing any region globally, and within a broad definition of ‘medieval’ and ‘medievalism’.

We are able to accept papers in English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.

Please send abstracts of no more than 200 words, brief biographies, and indications of time zone and availability as attachments in Word to midagesmodgames@gmail.com by Sunday 3 August.

Remembering this absolute corker from the new guidance. "Saying that homophobic people have negative attitudes towards gay people is stereotyping" Our judiciary is stacked with the weirdest people alive.
Examples of stereotypes in relation to religion or belief are that persons who hold or manifest certain gender-critical beliefs necessarily have negative attitudes towards trans people, or that persons who hold or manifest the belief that same-sex sexual activity is sinful necessarily have negative attitudes towards gay people. The judgment explains that: ‘it may be that some persons who hold / manifest such beliefs have such animus, but it is stereotyping to assume that all do.
