One blessing in this process has been consistently being affirmed. One of the external tenure reviewers, Dr. Marcus Anthony Hunter, shared his evaluation of my case and gave me permission to share it. His assessment was ignored. You can read the letter here drive.google.com/file/d/11fm2...
That Dr. Thrasher has operated as a constant and consistent citizen of the functions and curriculum of the
Medill School of Journalism while expanding his research portfolio and publications is evident in the
provided portfolio. Dr. Thrasher has a national profile as a sociologist rooted in innovating research
methods to better apprehend and convey historical and contemporary trends in racial inequity. Simply put,
Dr. Thrasher is an intellectual virtuoso with a voluminous portfolio warranting promotion to tenure
Associate Professor. I would happily answer any questions that may arise as this file moves forward.

OK, I wrote my “who’s going to enforce it?” piece. It’s a lengthy read, trying to respond to a lot of questions I’ve gotten over the past three weeks, but it’s about democracy so I decided it was worth it to lay out in depth, with examples, what I’ve been talking about here and elsewhere.
