Best part of that was John Cho barely holding his anger back on the interview circuit, saying "Ricardo Montalban, there was a great actor of colour". Clearly pissed they whitewashed the part with Scumbleshanks.

If the problem can be at all be attributed to "JJ Abrams is bad at writing", it's probably because JJ Abrams is bad at writing. And it's not like there was this giant...extended universe, say that had plenty of easily-copied and/or homaged examples of Sheev cloning folks, Luke for instance...

When I saw the kneejerk criticism post-RoS "If Snoke is Palpatine's puppet clone why'd they make him so ugly?", I pictured old Sheev Palpatine showing up at the First Order base with a toupee and a pastel suit all "Hey sugar babies, Daddy's back in town" (Finger Guns) (Aggressive Winking)

Every single bit of attention you throw at this garbage is another "numbers go up" statistic to fuel JKR's social standing and political pull. Do not watch. Do not pirate. And especially do not pay for anything relating to her.

transgender bones comic
Panel one: distressed transwoman, “please dont let archaeologists call me a man when they dig up my bones”
Panel two: (3000 years later) her bones are displayed in a museum wearing puppy play gear with sex toys performing autoerotic asphyxiation, and a card which reads “woman performing suicide ritual (2026AD)”

I got to see them once and it was glorious. It was also cool to watch a group of black vultures fight a juvenile bald eagle for the carcass of a paddlefish once during a Christmas bird count.
Roosting turkey vulture around sunrise in winter. The tree branches are bare except for a few brown leaves. It has black feathers and a red exposed skin face with a little white at the stem of its black beak. Two roosting black vultures: one with a black face and one with a white face on a large branch in winter. Two vultures in silhouette roosting on a foggy morning at sunrise in winter.

Let's Keep Calling!
An image of a huge jackboot crushing a comic artist and a bunch of comic pages. The boot is marked by the logos for MasterCard, Visa, Paypal, and Stripe. Below the image there is text which reads: Don't let Payment Processors tell YOU what you can buy! It is not a payment processor's role to decide what kind of content you can or cannot spend money on, so long as it is a legal transaction. Fight back against the unjust policies hurting artists and creators online!

Worth knowing about "Cape Feare": the production staff had already handed in their notice, so they departed from the (mostly) grounded humourous style of the show for a more Looney Tunes direction. This is why there's infinite rakes, an elephant parade, and a Gilbert & Sullivan production.

Krusty's show never got past a pilot script, and Troy's show...well, it's pretty clear why that didn't go anywhere, sad to say.

I've also heard that at separate times they were thinking of spinoff shows for Troy McClure and Krusty the Clown, both of them live-action. Krusty's would have supposedly been Dan Castellaneta as Krusty trying to redevelop his career in LA ala Frasier relocating to Seattle.

This was a thing with "Frasier" at first, too, it seemed to be a standard comedy rule - and in both shows you have this gradual erosion until the setup is barely a quarter of the runtime.

Yeah, ultimately the wild shell game of "it's #1000, but it's also just one more chapter in a very long ongoing story" is deeply insulting. Remember when they did #500, and JMS made it a standalone story that built on the characters' long, rich history?

Hawley's story was poignant, but it feels like some editor should have caught how odd calling Peter's future son "Miles" was in a story that focuses on Gwen Stacy. Even just a "I named you Miles, for Miles Morales, one of the bravest men I've ever met," or similar, would have solved it.

There are NOT machine-made clothes. If there were, your clothes would be made in the country you live in (where the customers are), or in China (where machines are cheap). They’re made in Bangladesh or India or Indonesia because that’s where the LABOUR is cheap. Your clothes are made by people.
Joyce Carol Oates says: “This is why Al-generated romance novels make perfect sense. Formulaic fiction doesn't need to be written by hand, so to speak; what difference does it make if a machine "writes" it? There are machine-made clothes & there are custom-made clothes. They appeal to
different consumers.“
