So...Redemption Theory, but real? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redempt...
Redemption promoters allege that a secret fund is created for every citizen at birth and that a procedure exists to "redeem" or reclaim this fund to pay bills. Common redemption schemes

Worth knowing about "Cape Feare": the production staff had already handed in their notice, so they departed from the (mostly) grounded humourous style of the show for a more Looney Tunes direction. This is why there's infinite rakes, an elephant parade, and a Gilbert & Sullivan production.

Matched with Briton Reviere's "Aphrodite (Selfie With The Squad)"...
Briton Reviere's painting "Aphrodite". The Goddess, depicted as a white woman in a red dress, is surrounded by wolves, bears, lions and leopards while walking through a forest, and holds her arm above her as though taking a group selfie.

Favourite film that came out when I was 20. Saw this in a little cinema on my uni campus and wondered if I was dreaming.

Patricia - and Kate O' Flynn playing her, and Katie Dippold and all the production team behind her - isn't just a great character. She's a TRAILBLAZER.

As contrasting examples, take Joyce from "Speechless", or Jan of "Only Murders In The Building", or (arguably the most , Tammy 2 of "Parks And Recreation". All of them are interesting characters; but too often their main function in the plot is a threat or obstacle.

The fascinating thing about Patricia Moyer of #WidowsBay is not that she's new or unique. There are dozens of TV shows which have similar characters - unconventionally attractive, physically dangerous, isolated, traumatised, older-than-25 women. They're just not usually the protagonist.

Naturally it reads a little differently in the original Japanese:
生きることはまことに苦しく、つらい......
Ikiru koto wa makotoni kurushiku, tsurai......
To live is extremely difficult and painful......

世を呪い、人を呪い、それでも生きたい......
Yo o noroi, hito o noroi, soredemo ikitai......
I curse the world, I curse people, and yet I want to live......

If I had a nickel for each time the second Trump administration had a mental breakdown over the colour blue and ended up cramming algae into everything...I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice

“Ave! Duci novo, similis duci seneci”,’ murmured Mr Slant, drily as only a zombie can manage. ‘Or, as we used to say at school, “Ave! Bossa nova, similis bossa seneca!”’ He gave a little schoolmasterly laugh. He felt at home with dead languages. ‘Of course, grammatically that is completely—’ ‘And that means . . . ?’ said Madam. ‘Here comes the new boss, same as the old boss,’ muttered Dr Follett.”

Suddenly remembering when Warren Ellis and Darick Robertson created a not-too-subtle satire of Blair in TRANSMETROPOLITAN, through the uncanny figure known as "The Smiler", whose secret was that he was grown in a vat

Gorm the Dissolver is a cooler character design/concept than any other bounty hunter, and that includes any and all inhabitants of Mandalore.

Bought one of these patches last year and it's one of my favourite things on my jacket. Huge recommend!
Close-up on a black denim jacket. A patch has been sewn on with white, blue and pink thread. The patch depicts a marble torso of a person who's had top surgery, surrounded by flowers. A banner reads "THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A WORLD WITHOUT TRANS PEOPLE"

Oof. 2008's catalogue has aged just awfully. The kickoff of the MCU, the massively overhype of "The Dark Knight", horrible misfires like "Slumdog Millionaire", "Benjamin Button", "Gran Torino"... Thank the stars for Melonie Diaz, Jack Black and Mos Def.

I've recently discovered Kamome Shirahara's "Witch Hat Atelier", which is * A better-written story * Gorgeously drawn * Proactively worldbuilding a LOT better than HP on core plot questions (e.g. "Why must magic be kept secret?", or "What are witches for anyway?")...

It also makes sense that there's a great deal of art which is deliberately iconoclastic because, on one level or another, it's trying to say "these rules/dogma are made up, not immutable laws of the universe". Magritte did this all the time. So does MÖRK BORG.

Another adaptation could grapple with your points, but the motivation of "Frankenstein" was never "I can bring the dead back to life": it was "I can discover the Elixir". He isn't a scientist, and doesn't think he should be limited by the focus of medical science.
