Remember folks - it's Census night, and some of you will regard some of the questions as quaint or ignorant. You're over thinking it. The marriage question for example. More granular statistics on relationships is collected in other ABS surveys. A census must be parsimonious to exist.

There is a high chance this year's Pacific climate phenomenon will be among the strongest on record, which could lead to hotter temperatures across the globe.

We're at the point where the Telegraph are literally making up quotes. I said when veg is sold for pennies in supermarkets, it's a sign someone's not being paid properly. Farmers being paid a pittance for their produce. Workers on less than a living wage in supermarkets.

Got annoyed with my version of Windows no longer being supported, but my otherwise beefy computer not compatible with the newest version. So I installed Fedora Workstation instead. Honestly don't know why I didn't switch over years ago. Just as easy to use, superior user experience. Try it out.

Much of the huge diversity of arthropods looks just like this, tons of little stinkers that are nearly identical at passing glance. All are unique species with their own natural history and irreplaceable ecology, it just takes a very observant mind to appreciate it. #entomology #science #insects
A screenshot of Figure 8 from a scientific publication that describes a new genus of stink-bug-like hemipterans (Similihypoxys). All are greenish with a dark horizontal stripe roughly across the middle of the thorax and darkened wings, generally top-heavy diamond-shaped insects.

A: “Yes, well we need to make sure they respect our values…” J: “They already have to pass a values test.” 3. A: “Well, we need to ensure they don’t breach these values…” J: “We have laws, and consequences for people who break them.” 4. A: “Something something people from Gaza…” J: “It’s hard coming second to Pauline, isn’t it.”

Heavy rain here, concreate driveways and gardens are being inundated with more water than drains can handle. Meanwhile my mulched hasn't had any water off flow and easily absorbed it for groundwater recharge, use by plants, and keeping the area cooler on hot days.

The best part of working with native grasslands is the community support.
"Can someone please explain to me what the purpose of this fenced-in area is? We can't even walk through it. Occasionally I see workers from the council performing some sort of scrub clearing operation. Whenever I go past it, I can't help but feel what a waste it is not to allocate this area to residential housing."
