the haunting

an illustration of jude from the graphic novel 'strange cases' in a cathedral-like setting, holding scales with lit candles, as though it was a candelabra. the smoke from the candles swirl around him, leading to a looming statue of his mother holding a sword. her sculpted visage is partially weathered and damaged, exposing the bones that lay underneath the statue. surrounding him are more statues, this time of saints, similarly weathered, with their bones partially exposed.

Yurie, the Last Scholar 🤍 (The Choir Set still has my heart) #bloodborne

My illustration of Yurie the Last Scholar from bloodborne. She is standing with her back to us, showing all the details and embellishments on her iconic choir set outfit. She looks to the side mysteriously under her blindfold cap. One hand is gloved, the other hand is a cluster of tentacles, a nod to the Augur of Ebrietas.

PAGE OF SWORDS 🗡️ Jedah d’Cannith is Selias’ cousin, and something of a self-appointed spymaster to the Starchasers. His primary loyalty is to the prince of Cyre, and he works with a secret organization looking into the cause of the Mourning. #art #starchasers #dnd

A tarot-style illustration with a banner reading “PAGE OF SWORDS”. It features a man in a high-collared black frock coat lined with green over a black leather vest, which is designed to pass as nice clothing but functions as armor. A grey jabot is tucked into the vest. His shirt is white and his pants are grey. He looks out of frame to the left of the image, gesturing with his raised left hand, while holding a rapier in his right, where a simple dragonmark is visible extending over his hand from beneath his sleeve. His hair is black and his eyes are green, with fair skin.

The background is a blue gradient with layers of heavy clouds or mist toward the bottom, the inverse of Selias’ card, and the bottom of the image is framed in pink and purple snapdragons leading into white roses.

Here is the starry cover illustration that I had the pleasure of painting for the upcoming GUTTERWITCH by Esmie Jikiemi-Pearson, for Penguin Random House US 🌟 Out March, 2027!

Cover illustration painted by Eleonor Piteira for the book 'Gutterwitch' by Esmie Jikiemi-Pearson, showing a black young woman with curly hair on a long braid, half holding and half hiding the strong glow from a star. The woman is dressed all in black or very dark clothes, including black gloves, and a cape that becomes the sky and clouds behind the pale buildings of an academy. Swirly branches filled with thorns are all around the buildings while some seagulls fly above it. Behind her, a dark night sky glitters with stars.

(🧵2/2) bonus is the Gabi formula! (none for Jonah bc he is too smol~ 🥺🤏) also more info in ALT TXT~ ✨ ⬇️all inspired by the Grand Sol charts which y'all should also check out!⬇️

🤖Gabi's Character Inspiration

LEFT
⬇️TOP - Midna from LoZ: Twilight Princess⬇️
probably their biggest influence in terms of mischievous gremlin personality 😈 + also partial voice HC~
⬇️MIDDLE - The Architect from The Matrix + Monsoon from MGR⬇️
placing these 2 together bc they are more related to strong visual influences in Gabi rather than their personality. Gabi's monitor room is 100% inspired by The Architect, and their title "The Mediator" i feel is def inspired by The Architect's title as well 🖥️ + ofc Monsoon separating body part is a big inspo for Gabi's body design~ 🦾
⬇️BOTTOM - Great Forest Spirit from Princess Mononoke⬇️
Gabi is a wannabe omniscient being u_u✨ + dual identities~~ 😶‍🌫️

RIGHT
⬇️TOP - L from Death Note⬇️
a calmer + more mature gremlin energy that Gabi also embodies 🕵️ as well as the other half of my voice HC (i HC Gabi's voice similar to L w/ some of Midna's feminine tones peeking thru, if that makes sense~)
⬇️MIDDLE - Professor X from X-Men⬇️
i wasn't consciously inspired by Professor X, but i feel like the burdened disabled leader w/ an angsty past w/ another character (👀) might've slipped in as subconscious inspo~
⬇️BOTTOM - child!Alia Atreides from Dune⬇️
this is another more distant influence, but another cursed gremlin child character as well as an association with the title "Abomination"~ 😶‍🌫️

⬇️here are the 🧪Formulas🧪 behind my #ftm #bl #webcomic #comic #ocsky OTP/blorbos⬇️ edencomplex.carrd.co read ALT TXT for extended brainrot‼️😤🙏 + there are 2 ships that are the Blueprint behind MarcKari~ ✌️😉 (altho it's funny to try to cross-ship all the other parallel paneled chars--) also (🧵1/2)....

🏳️‍⚧️Kari Sok/Auclair's Character Inspiration

LEFT
⬇️TOP - Solid Snake from Metal Gear⬇️
my ultimate snarky suffering comfort blorbo!!! ✊😔❤️‍🔥 Kari is supposed to have the exact energy of that MGS4 moment where Snake says dumb shit into awkward silence while choking on his cigarette~ 🚬😔✨✨✨
⬇️MIDDLE - Tony/Iron Man, EMH cartoon ver. specifically⬇️
another comfort suffering snarker 😔🙏✨ as well as 1/2 of one of my ult OTPs (Stony 🥺❤️💙) that is an obvious inspo for MarcKari as a whole 🥹 (past x future type ship 💓)
⬇️BOTTOM - Akira from BL manga Mirai no Kioku + Kaze no Yukue⬇️
inspo for the gremlin con artist side of Kari~ 😌 from my guilty pleasure BL that is lowkey a blueprint for my strange sense of humor, as well my desire to create a BL-within-a-wider-world type vibes 😭✨

RIGHT
⬇️TOP - Elsa from Frozen (this specific concept art)⬇️
fun fact is that Kari's lower half of his face is directly inspired by this specific concept art, as well as prob the spiky hair~ 👀 (shockingly not from Sasuke)
+ maybe Elsa's themes also have a lil inspo too~ (YOU ARE THE ONE YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR ALL OF YOUR LIIIFEE-)
⬇️MIDDLE - Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite⬇️
so i've never played the game (bc i am a Fake Gamer) but i have seen the Analysis Videos + i feel like i was subconsciously inspired by all of Elizabeth's designs for my fem!Kari looks, as well as the entire aesthetic of Bioshock~ 😳 (it checks out considering EC has quuiite similar themes, tho genuinely not intentionally haha 💦 since EC's themes are mostly inspired by irl~ 🙂‍↕️)
⬇️BOTTOM - Trevor Belmont from animated Castlevania + Helga from Atlantis⬇️
cheated by shoving in 2 chars (since these are both kinda similarly surface-level influences, but still worth mentioning~)
Trevor w/ the good ol' rogue w/ the heart of gold energy which i always love 💖 + Helga's face design/attitude defff lives rent free in my head~~ ❤️‍🔥

🏳️‍🌈Marc Gunvald's Character Inspiration

LEFT
⬇️TOP - Franz from Gankutsuou⬇️
in my original dream, Marc's hairstyle actually resembled Franz's (tho still dirty blond), until a Certain Braindamage* overrode...but he will still keep the longing glances for his secret gay love-! 😌🏳️‍🌈
⬇️MIDDLE - Steve/Cap, esp from first Captain America movie⬇️
comic/EMH!Stony is overall a bigger influence for the MarcKari dynamic, but sadprettyboi!Cap from the first Cap movie is peAAk 🤌💖💖💖 fem!Kari x Marc is also a lil Peggy x Cap-coded too now that i think about it~ 🤔 (i just love historical aesthetic sm aaa)
⬇️BOTTOM - Kento from BL manga Mirai no Kioku + Kaze no Yukue⬇️
i love me my stubborn traditional-minded blockheads...more fun to convert 'em to the Dark Side-!! 😘 (+ i think i genuinely just have a soft spot for chars who earnestly family-oriented~ 🥹)

RIGHT
⬇️TOP - Erwin from Attack on Titan⬇️
this is ✨✨My Braindamage 😔✨✨ Marc isss basically Erwin minus the leadership charisma...but all the (seemingly)-calm handsome gazes + secret crazy/passionate side, yesyesyess 🤤💗
⬇️MIDDLE - Derek from Swan Princess⬇️
my worst/most controversial inspo 😂 (also it makes more sense in the context of S2~ 👀)
fun fact is Prince Derek was literally my fav animated movie prince as a child 😭✨ but hear me out...the more annoying/alpha(-coded) a character is, the more i wanna shove into their butt ok 😭🫴💖🍑--
⬇️BOTTOM - Flynn Rider from Tangled⬇️
tbh i don't think he was a direct influence in Marc's creation (unless subconsciously), but i headcanon him for Marc's speaking voice + also i guess they both have Secret Names and similar-ish hairstyles, so coincidence-i-think-not??? 🕵️

Still not enjoying doing it, but I’m getting better and better. Already did some banger this year I can’t show atm. I mean a few years back I never thought I can draw stuff like this. It’s not perfect and way too stiff and static but a good start.
