How are people’s lives set up that this is a thing that they think people want or would use? Y’all got kind of free time to have a make-believe conversation with a made up character on a platform — who does dinner and cleans out the fridge at your house that you have time for this?

I’m always amazed that at my age I can still write words I’ve never written down before and realize I’ve spelled them incorrectly: today’s, sergeant, which I always assumed began with “sar."

I finished the rough draft of my grant proposal. Well, not the budget or the sample of work, but the rest. Why they make grant apps so incredibly odious has always escaped me, although admittedly they do cause one to consider one’s project from angles one hadn’t previously, and I appreciate that.

I’ve upscaled my time with the novel I’m editing the last few days, and yesterday for the first time I did some significant work, then I got to bed and thought, Nope, that was exactly the wrong direction. Save it for further along in the book and rewrite from scratch for current placement. SIGH.
