I've redesigned Katarineko from the ground up, improved story generation naturalness, added listening and listening reviews and worked over a couple of weeks to make the whole thing spark joy. I've put quite a bit of love into this release and I hope you find it useful. #leanjapanese #日本語

Two proposals were offered to me. The first was that we post our Euler result, and that OpenAI post its Navier-Stokes result the next day. The second was that, after posting Euler, I alone write a paper presenting the Navier-Stokes result, acknowledging that an internal OpenAI model had resolved it. Sebastien twice asserted that he wanted Levent removed from authorship, and said it would all be simple if only it were not the case that, and it was so annoying that, Levent works at Anthropic. It was also said that if OpenAI posted after us, they would say that we deserved the Clay Prize, and that we were the "closest humans to the problem". I declined both offers.
I said that if OpenAI released its result in the way proposed I would go public with what happened. The reply was, "Why would you ruin your career?" I replied that I am an academic, and asked why he thought going public would ruin my career. The reply was,
"If you don't want me to be nice, then I don't
have to be nice."

Will Astra manage to help me get a *proper* Shakuhachi physical modeling? I've tried this task with all models until now and despite references, papers and other flute models they haven't managed.

~~ Weird experiments in human-agentic interactions #1 ~~ What would re-thinking the operating system mean in agentic times? I've been exploring a design of an operating system that is fully actor based where agents are part of the operating system and acting as actors with capabilities.

it’s pretty wild that we as a society of have just completely normalized (and at times encouraged) people to act insanely rude and inappropriate to complete strangers online, in ways they wouldn’t in real life, to the point that a lot of pro-social behavior has is even stigmatized on social media

I am trans and I use AI. I have received numerous death, rape, and kys threats on Bluesky. Every time it has been from an anti-AI activist. The anti-AI crowd is rotten and wouldn't act this way if they actually cared about trans safety. I am sick of my identity being used to defend this behavior.

Here's the Budget Allocator node + seed graph in action. You give it min & max for each category, assign importance weights, and give a budget topline and the formula tells you how much to spend on each category in line with what you value!

Atlas is live! A spatial foundation model, trained in-house from scratch. After shipping RTFM last year, I was convinced a single camera-conditioned auto-regressive model could unify most spatial generation tasks. Atlas is that bet at scale. The core idea👇

I really don’t think this is true. There are counter examples everywhere but most saliently, game design has very little theory and much less creativity than I would like and I think the two are linked. Theory lets you communicate and lets you think and lets you build the house for your experiments.
Peter Saville has a wonderful theory that musicians stop writing great music when they learn about the formal process of making music.
Why? Because then they won't take any chances. When you're young, you go, G, B. On yeah, man, that fucking takes your head off that!
Weird but sounds great!'
Then, when you get older and you know a lot more about how music is supposed to sound, you go, 'Oh, that G, B, that jars a little doesn't it? Oh no, try E flat. That's better, and the edge is gone. I agree with him. The more proficient you become at writing music the less chances you take because you become aware of all the rules and theories that may well be the proper way to do things but end up constricting you, throttling all the creativity out of what you've got. No more risk-taking.

I've been exploring an #ATProto -based board game community site. Instead of building a community around a single game (like #GoGame, or #chess) the idea is to build the system around clubs to try to emulate the local clubs that not everyone has nearby + a way to create custom games or variants.
A code editor on the left and a Go board on the right, the user is debugging the logic using the built in-debugger
