Not just impeachable. Impeachment, both pres. and agency heads, is the only option. It's impeachment or nothing. Courts won't stop it. Other tools are impotent. Put them on trial the only way you can. Even if you can't get 2/3, use process as punishment. Make it miserable and costly. It can be done.

I neglected to thank @johnfea1.bsky.social for the summary and reposting. I hope there is something useful here even after all the press (and new books) the Dec has been getting recently. If and when I revise the piece, though, I will likely ad "the settler colonial way."

I'd urge folks who are outraged by Emily Wilson's take to read the brilliant intro to her edition of The Odyssey. She's treating the movie as a very different, problematic, translation in a long tradition of them (& of snark among translators). Nolan didn't read it or didn't take hers seriously.

Eleven ways of looking at the Declaration of Independence
American historian David Waldstreicher has identified eleven ways of looking at the Declaration of Independence. "What could be more American?" They are: The Enlightenment Way The Republican Way The Congressional Way The Democratic Way The Government Way The International Way The Godly Way The Whining Way The Nationalist Way The Racialist Way The Antislavery War See how he unpacks these here. Here is Waldstreicher's conclusion: Americans fought a civil war in the 1860s over how to interpret the Declaration of 1776 as well as the Constitution of 1787. These disagreements have been difficult and sometimes even deadly.

💯. Non-Jews who think Ossoff is a natural front-runner are out of touch with what Jews are facing. If antisemitism already seems unleashed now… just wait. Ossoff is not just Jewish, but also attacks anti-Black racism. That’s a double sin for white supremacists... even as I/P will be a lose-lose.
