Grateful to the Society of Thoracic Surgeons to put #GlobalCardiacSurgery on the #STS2025 agenda and to be invited to give the session's opening talk. >100 countries & territories still lack a single cardiac surgeon locally. Multidisciplinary and multisectoral efforts are needed to make a change.
