I am a fan of Dorothy Dunnett -- an author of extremely entertaining and highly detailed historical fiction. But I can't be the only one frustrated by her use of horoscopes and astrology (Lymond Chronicles) and divining (House of Nicoló) in a world that is otherwise fully materialistic.
