Yeah. Being in fifth place, supporting Trump and the Iran war, pretending the terrifying weather is just *fine*, and employing actual Nazis sure looks like "a canny move" that's "finally cutting through?"
As a Tory, I say things are looking up. Farage is fading, and the looming threat to No 10 is called Kemi.
My party has seen difficult times – but with a few canny moves the leader is finally cutting through, and there are clear signs of recovery

Whenever I'm like "active & public transport are underfunded to the detriment mainly of poor people" people are like "how are you going to fund it?" but when it's subsidising driving (already far more heavily subsidised, with massive negative externalities) it's "we can't expect poor people to pay."

Some thoughts on why I think it's important to remember that the natural and physical world provide joy and curiosity, even though global geopolitics is very mean and horrible right now. Appreciating the world around us gives us joy & agency. Don't forget the bad, but hold on to the good too.

In 1970 the UK and Norway were roughly equal, almost no debt, and owned all their Public Services. Now the UK owns nothing and has £3tn of debt. While Norway still owns everything and has the equivalent of £10tn. That's how privatisation 'works'.

This article misses 2 important points: 1. Soya is the secondary driver of Amazon deforestation, the primary cause is cattle ranching, 2. More than three-quarters of soya produced worldwide is fed to livestock. Directly or indirectly, it is the meat industry that is eating Brazil's Amazon.

Where would I start? Discouraging short car trips for those who can walk, obvs, and taking steps like banning pavement parking and fixing pelican crossings to make walking easier and quicker. Getting house builders to stop building car-dependent transport deserts could also be a lasting impact

Imagine if BBC spent as much time on the dangers of climate collapse as they do on immigration. Imagine the public response when they realise what the real danger is to our children & who is causing it. Instead of anger at refugees there’d be anger at oil companies, media bosses, politicians & BBC.

I am all for decarbonization, but this is a tax subsidy for car ownership and for cementing public space as someone's personal car parking space. We will never be able to remove a parking space to plant a tree or install on street bike parking where a home owner has licensed such a cable.

I'm back in court today fighting the legality of overgrazing on Dartmoor . 0.1% of protected sites across the park are in favourable environmental condition , yet we still spend millions in taxpayer cash propping up loss-making , destructive sheep farming . It has to change .

Israel has murdered more starving Palestinian civilians queuing for food from its "distribution hubs" (798) than the total number of Israeli civilians (695) killed on 7th October. On top of the 80,000 people (over 25,000 kids) it's already butchered.
