They’re so jealous you can write. They’re so jealous you can draw. They’re so jealous you can make music. They have all the money in the world, but they’ve been driven insane because they don’t have your joy.

Can't stress this enough: nobody fucking cares what he was up to

Warner Bros. has said The Hunt for Gollum is in fact the first of two new Lord of the Rings feature films from Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, and Philippa Boyens based on J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth, as the company aims to make more of the franchise. With The Hunt for Gollum, we’ll get to see what Gollum was up to in the years between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.

7 things everyone should know about Trump's megabill: Cuts $930 billion from Medicaid 16 million lose health care Slashes nutrition aid by $186 billion Less income for bottom 40% of families Increases debt by $3.3 trillion $45 billion for immigration jails Billions for defense contractors

The Republican reconciliation legislation, which Trump calls his "big, beautiful bill," is massive.

One thing you will never think after reading a great book or listening to a great album or seeing a great piece of art is, “I’m really glad this person remained cautious while they were making this and guarded against being perceived as weird.”

Not sure where I'm going with this except to say to support and follow artists with disabilities. There's more than you think, in so many disabilities are invisible.

Reading My Favorite Thing Is Monsters, I'm reminded of seeing K Flay perform after her hearing loss and watching my partner reinvent herself and her music through a disability and (mis)diagnoses, treatments, and the typical mistreatment by health care insurance and practitioners.

Where do you fall on the #dnd alignment chart as a writer? True Plantser all the way, no question, but I also resonate with: - Knows the end, writes toward it - Loves to worldbuild - Who writes things down??

Lawful Pantser:
- Writes everything in order
- Uses the flashlight method to get to the end
- Ends up in strange places
- Knows random details nobody else cares about

Neutral Pantser:
- Writes things as they come to them
- Not afraid to bounce around
- Knowing the end makes it boring

Chaotic Pantser:
- Writes completely out of order
- What the fuck is a plot?
- Loves side fiction, and writes whatever they're excited about

Lawful Plantser:
- Knows the ending, writes toward it
- Loves to worldbuild
- Uses character bios / has definitely taken personality tests for their characters

True Plantser:
- Starts an outline
- Goes off script and ends up in unexpected places
- But that's okay cause this is more interesting anyway

Chaotic Plantser:
- Has an idea of the plot when they start
- Who writes things down??
- Has to assemble scenes into a frankendraft

Lawful Plotter:
- has detailed character bios
- Multi-page outline organized by scene/chapter
- Probably knows what color socks their MC wears on tuesdays

Neutral Plotter:
- Brief outline
- Likes to use beat sheets
- Modifies and updates the outline as they go
- Thinks about writing character bios, rarely does

Chaotic Plotter:
- Writes scenes on little cards and tries to organize them on a board
- Writes said scenes out of order
- Copy and paste is your friend

Le Guin was 100% right when she called Harry Potter "ethically mean spirited". People focus on her critique of the prose of the book, or the style, or the fact it's bland. But, I think, Le Guin saw Rowling for who she really was, and wouldn't be surprised at the terf Rowling is now
