Still thinking abt Creepy. Disturbing, yet beautiful, haunting, and powerful ending. Hope in that ending, but also deep in the bone terror. Philosophical, much like Cure before it. Cure was about identity, and does it exist, and what happens when it's erased. Creepy is about freewill, & control

yes yes yes also, I would never write with AI. That's not the point, that's not why I write. I don't write so I have a book in my hand I write because I have ideas I want to flesh out, create, explore. The exploration is a huge part of the process. It changes as its written, & that's a good thing

a copy of THE BOOK OF THE DEAD in front of my tea tray (a black tray with a skull on it)the cover of THE BOOK OF THE DEAD, edited by jonathan strahan, illustrated by galen dara, showing a skeletal figure with a crown of roses, spectral robes hanging. behind it is a tombstone surmounted with a circled cross.SINKING ALL THE WHILE

1.

We didn't kill him. He fell sometimes people die of a fall-it's known-we are accustomed to blame but we are not to blame. Perhaps he was dead al-ready. We don't know. It's not our fault. We can't tell.

It is true that we embraced him as he sank, and we pulled on his soft rich clothing, yes, that's true. We pulled him-not down! toward!-in a direction toward the center of things, you know the one. Deep inside. People have this silly idea about directions, the way to cut up the world, north south east west up down. They forget away and toward (the center).

You cannot cut water; we think he still tried. The scabbard on his belt was empty. His hand clutched a knife. He sank slowly toward the center.

How we held him! Like a lover, entered him, tenderly, sweetly, in si-lence, not wishing to be too forward (not a direction). His juices meeting our juices. Blood of the city: rainwater and pisswater and the oozings of trash, of-fal on Butcher Street

and doodled some pixel art cover art thingy for the Houses Catch Fire all the time EP will upload to bandcamp later, exhausted
pixel art of a house on fire surrounded by the shadow of pine trees. A shadowy figure stands in the doorway, outlined by flame. His eyes glow red, and a trail of blood follows him. Above it is the title of the album, Houses Catch Fire all the Time

And that's another #HorrorWatch in the coffin! I wish the movie had played to it's strengths more (more Dracula, more atmosphere, etc) and less to it's strange comedy subplots but it has some wonderful scenes in it, which means I'll probably be watching it again! What did you all think?

fun fact: in original folklore the stake was an iron stake, like a railroad tie. And it was pounded through the heart to pin the vampire to the earth, so it would stop getting out of its grave at night to torment people #HorrorWatch
