I read an article this morning that says the Green Party has "more radical climate policies" than other parties But there's nothing radical about trying to stop everything being destroyed What's radical is ignoring the threat and letting it rip

We need to be less hysterical about potential AMOC collapse in 2100 and way more hysterical about the actual mega El Niño in 2027.

I don’t think everyone realizes how bad things are for US science: For the fiscal year that just ended, the Trump regime withheld $1.4 billion from the National Science Foundation’s research budget, which is about 1/5 of its primary research budget.

When climate scientists say things are going to be horrendous, people find out many years later that we’re right. With this El Niño, the “find out” part will come in months.

The oil industry is unwilling to pay for this pipeline because even they know the world is moving away from fossil fuels. This project leaves Canadians bearing all the risks of a bad investment without any of the rewards.

Jet fuel: 12,000 Wh/kg. Modern batteries: ~300 Wh/kg. Even with motor efficiency, jet fuel holds 20x the power per kg. Worse: planes rely on getting lighter as they burn fuel. Electric planes spend energy hauling dead battery weight all the way to landing. It's a physics wall.

Treating this as an unstoppable race, and accepting the "endgame" of runaway warming, is a reckless gamble that should never be decided in a boardroom alone. Betting on future carbon removal to fix today's emissions requires far more confidence than the evidence supports.
