New open-access paper! We tracked how 50 multilingual children learned new words through reading using eye tracking. Reading times decreased with repeated encounters, while comprehension skill was the clearest predictor of learning. With Jiayin Li & Jeanine Treffers-Daller: doi.org/10.1016/j.je...

New paper led by Adam Parker showing that bolding the beginning or middle of words (as recommended by #BionicReading) shifts landing positions slightly left in longer words but does not impact reading speed, word skipping rates or (ultimately most importantly) reading comprehension.
