I'm so, so exhausted by all of the ignorant backlash against stuff like this. Neurodivergence, disability, gender, dysphoria. Endless headlines and no-think pieces based on refusal to understand the basics, of what people are saying. The Channel 4 complaints page: www.channel4.com/4viewers/con...

I’ve officially resigned as Associate Editor for Frontiers in Systems Neuroscience. It used to be a reputable journal, but became a case study in how forced automation destroys academic integrity. 👇

The book focuses on school environments, practice & pedagogy & relationships. Throughout each chapter there is a shared understanding that neurodivergent voices & knowledge need to be central to how schools operate. If you're an education professional & committed to inclusion, this book is for you!

‪Thank you to #AECongress2025 for the chance to present our (w @drrachaeldavis.bsky.social) work on the #Autism & #Bilingualism Hub autism-bilingualism.com TY to all who came to chat after the talk, & those who came by our #gender/ #masking/ #mentalhealth poster! (spot the subtle 🍉🇵🇸 support)
Picture taken at the Autism Europe Congress 2025 showing the presenter Dr Bérengère Digard standing at a lectern in the bottom left corner of the image. Dr Digard has long dark hair, a colourful shirt, and dark red trousers. She is looking to her left, towards the screen behind her, that takes most of the picture. On the screen there is the first slide of her talk, showing in dark red the title "Clinicians & Educators on Bilingualism & Autism: Factors influencing practice, & the efficacy of new information resources". Below the title are the authors' names and affiliations (Dr Bérengère Digard and Ella Verduyn at the University of Edinburgh, Dr Rachael Davis at Queen Margaret University). In the bottom right corner of the slide there is a cartoon of a watermelon slice to represent the authors' ongoing support for Palestine and their stance against the apartheid and genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinian and supported by Western nations. To the left of the title is a drawing of the face of a blond child on a green background with their head surrounded by letters. In the bottom left there are different logos aligned showing the organisations that supported the study presented (the University of Edinburgh, Queen Margaret University, the Patrick Wild Centre, FIRAH). Picture of Dr Bérengère Digard standing by a poster at the Autism Europe Congress 2025. Dr Digard has long dark hair, a colourful shirt, and dark red trousers. The portrait-oriented poster is entitled "A qualitative study on the intersectionality of autism and gender on mental health and camouflaging". Next to the title is attached a pin of the Palestinian flag to show Dr Digard's support for Palestine and her stance against the genocide and apartheid committed by Israel against the Palestinians with the support of Western states.

Time to re-share this piece I made a year ago today about neurodiversity and neurodivergence, and why the important distinctions between them is not about grammar/linguistics.

There is a growing push to make research data 'open' (i.e., not just stored by the original research team, for no one else to use). In our new study, we examined the views of autistic adults and parents of autistic children on this issue. Results suggest a cautious, nuanced approach is needed...

V cool finding showing autistic people are not so dependent on synchrony to feel positive about an interaction (without showing less synchrony overall compared with non-autistic pairs) Also the first ever registered report published in @journalautism.bsky.social !!

New studies on how rapport differs between autistic & non-autistic ppl suggest having other autistic interactants is more important for autistics' ease, enjoyment: journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/..., & social-motor synchrony is more important for non-autistics: journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/...

I started Weird Pride Day in 2021, but the roots of pride as a political tool go back through decades of the LGBTQ liberation movement, to Black power in the 1960s. Weird Pride in particular is a concept that many people, from a variety of backgrounds, have arrived at independently.
