yeah for many? of these people they think it's humanity's calling to reorganize more of the universe into matter capable of thought (neutral) iirc there were parallel lines of belief in the atomic or steam eras. agriculture is a tech old enough that it's baked into major religions now

some of these are clunky and it's all late and moot anyway but imho "do not anthropomorphize" is directionally right as a safeguard for _us_ to not get overconfident in our machines. (the web is about 50% "benighted rube believed an incorrect AI" articles now so just imagine i linked one of those)

i'm actually on board with this but imho the long run potential is to change any field which can be boiled down to, here's a bag of symbols that can be manipulated, and the outputs can be scored as more/less useful. art is safer in the long run. how long is "long", nobody knows
