At the same time working families are asked to tighten their belts, the wealthiest Americans are receiving enormous federal tax breaks. In New York alone, millionaires are getting an estimated $12 billion in federal tax cuts (roughly $129,600 per millionaire) while everyday New Yorkers face rising rent, rising grocery prices, and childcare costs that can exceed $25,000 a year.

It is concerning that despite publicly promising to address the affordability crisis, (highlighted sentence) you are more concerned with hiding your meetings with the Epstein class than working with Mayor Mamdani and the legislature to help working New Yorkers (end higlight)-including through truly universal, statewide childcare that pays childcare workers a living wage. It is unacceptable to ask working families to absorb service cuts while billionaires receive windfalls.

And we, the people, agree. Recent polling shows 54% of voters statewide and 62% of New York City voters (including 72% of Democrats) support raising taxes on millionaires.
