Did a little photo-mockup of the new Legion of the Damned, I thought they could do with some flame/heat effects coming through the soft spot of the armor. Imagining that the ceramite is barely containing the psychic force of the Damned, so the joints and power pack are almost about to burst.

Played some more Newcromunda today, trying a mini-campaign to see how it shakes out in the long run. Good clean fun! A lot of changes for change's sake, but thats from the crushing weight of 9+ years of unchanged rules. New players will definitely feel the benefit

More for my #escher gang, I made the needle repeater into a sniper rifle by adding a scope, the one on the weapon set doesn’t have a stock so the repeater seemed a better base for the conversion. The chem witch turns out can’t join a Wyld hunt so back to the drawing board for a medic #necromunda

The first of my armageddon intercessors, the main addition was the many waist purity seals, but I also swapped in the mk7 style helmet, made a relic powerpack, did the crusade shield details with a pen, and I'm also pretty pleased with the shading on the hazard stripe chainsword

NEARLY 12 YEARS AGO, there was but a girl, with a dream. Now there is a woman with even bigger dreams and she is knackered. So Bad Squiddo was set up by, and still is, run independently by me, Annie. No savings or investors, in fact I was in a bit of a bad way when I had the wild idea to make minis.
SOMEHOW, I've grinded my way through these years building up something I am so so proud of, and can only see getting even better. However, as mentioned earlier, I am knackered. Managing every aspect of the business, and on a shoestring, has taken it out of me for sure, and I never want my enthusiasm to dampen.
The solution is getting some lovely folk to run the web shop fulfillment for me. This means all my stock going to them. It will free up more time and brain, the two things I have been lacking in. If you've seen me in person lately you'll have definitely noticed I am a bit of a zombie.
With that load taken off my plate, I will have time to hopefully be less poorly, but also time to make Bad Squiddo bigger and badder than ever. The historical research and education has become a huge part, and having more time to discover these people and then tell you about them will be magical. I'll be able to work on more projects and get even more minis of different eras out there too.
While the webshop will stay open, between AROUND 2nd-21st September (subject to change) there won't be any shipping. This is while I get everything packed down, find someone to drive it to the new place, and then give those guys time to get it all set up and running.
The Bad Squiddo HQ will still be here in Nottingham, the extra space will be used for dioramas, photo set ups, study space and eventually some sort of studio. You'll be seeing a lot more of me, for sure.
All of this is costing a chunk of funds, and there will be a tough couple months ahead as things balance out (I am sweating a bit), though everyone involved is super confident that it'll be the start of something mega amazing.

While the new Necromunda starter set is excellent for new players, the reference sheet is baffling. The To Wound table (highlighted below) are the only rules you can use in the starter set. There are no psykers, pets to panic, heights to fall from, or vehicles (overleaf). Bizarre design decision

Oh I'm no stranger to writing a billion things down for Necromunda, I'm just surprised that this edition was sold on a promise of streamlining and in many cases it's just a different flavour of complexity. I'd really love a designers' round table like they did for 11th to hear some reasoning!

Medics are now a ganger specialisation! There's now a huge impetus to have at least one medic in your gang to scoot round and patch up important fighters to get them out of the 0 Wound Injured zone, as you lose Injured (and thus, get your skills back) as soon as you have 1+ Wounds.

(Previously when you hit zero wounds, you took a Damage die and bounced back to 1 wound) Now you stay Injured while on zero wounds, and if you become Seriously Injured and recover from it, you remain on zero wounds until you recover a lost wound from someone with the Medicate skill

Injured means you can't use Skills, so no bulging biceps for your heavy, twin pistols for your gun slinger, or inspiring presence for your leader. Juves don't get skills, so they're basically unaffected by being injured. You can now hit Zero Wounds, which makes you Injured

The new injury system seems neat but took us an age to get our head around. A flow chart would have been REALLY helpful, but instead it's lots of scrying to understand. Basically there's no more Flesh Wounds, it's been replaced by being 'Injured' (which isn't a condition).

Your starting credits seem to stretch much further which is nice. Having access to cheaper pets and brutes not tied to Rep also mean you get some fun minis on the board in your first game that would normally take you half a campaign to afford previously.

I am also vexed at the daisy-chaining of keywords that results in lots of page-flipping. You want to look up what Brawler does (a ganger specialisation), Brawler grants Berserker (a skill), Berserker grants Frenzy (a condition)

I love the new ganger specialisations, and skills are back in a big way (basically everyone starts with at least one skill now). I am baffled that shooting two pistols is now locked behind the Gunslinger skill. Enthusiastic twin gun juves are thing of the past. Let my gangers be crap at something!
