Played some more Newcromunda today, trying a mini-campaign to see how it shakes out in the long run. Good clean fun! A lot of changes for change's sake, but thats from the crushing weight of 9+ years of unchanged rules. New players will definitely feel the benefit

While the new Necromunda starter set is excellent for new players, the reference sheet is baffling. The To Wound table (highlighted below) are the only rules you can use in the starter set. There are no psykers, pets to panic, heights to fall from, or vehicles (overleaf). Bizarre design decision

I like that combat shotguns, and most template weapons it seems, have been nerfed. They no longer rival boltguns for raw damage output. Blast weapons now have a chance to misfire and blow up in your face, which feels like an N95 nod

I like the Side Jobs, they remind me of the sub-missions from the Law and Misrule campaign. You can still lose a mission and make a cartload of cash. Gonna get a bit repetitive with only six options currently. The book says more are incoming, so we'll see.

I like the new deployment rules. Gangs on the board will be smaller. Only 1 in 6 current deployment options let's you field all 10 gangers, the others are going to be around 4-8, partially random. Reinforcements come up a lot too, which is nice.
