Hence the only tiny redeeming aspect of having Tom Cruise play Reacher in two films - you believe people would be willing to go one-on-one with him.

When carbon dioxide starts freezing out of the air you know that it's a bit chilly outside. (Yes I know the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is too low for you to actually see dry ice forming. But damn, that's cold!)

Maybe that's a thing? pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/41845972/ Still, the scale needed for a marketable biologic would surely make this prohibitively expensive.

Craig @drcjm.bsky.social · 10/07/2026
So it's for formulation, not structural studies? Dunno... seems a bit out there and the scale you'd need to be manufacturing for market makes this seem ludicrously expensive. Maybe they should add "AI-Driven" to their pitch somewhere, that'll cover any issues with practicality or logic.

From the article: "...for deeper dives the oxygen content has to be above 32 per cent, experts said." No they absolutely did not! Deeper dives you want to avoid oxygen toxicity, not make it worse! Trimix 18/45 would be a typical 50m gas mix i.e. oxygen 18%, helium 45%.

Not quite, but sort of. It appears that there are proteins that synthesise DNA from free nucleotides without a template - the reverse of the Central Dogma. The proteins don't influence the coding DNA that made them, but do make new DNA using the biochemical equivalent of basic building blocks.
