I feel good that I don't need to blame someone else for all the mess. I own my part and while my part is influenced by everyone and everything around me to a degree, it's still mine at the end of the day. It always come up in therapy where I have to be clear that there are no villains or heroes.

That was an emotional dump of a therapy session and I wish I could just soak it all up and process but I gotta groom a dog. It felt good to say all that to someone tho and feel heard and validated. I feel weird being that open and vulnerable and I'm glad I can do that now. I feel stronger.

Few people talk about or acknowledge how mental health meds are just throwing spaghetti against a wall to see what sticks. Maybe it works. Maybe it makes you worse. Maybe it does some weird 3rd thing. And the solution is to keep banging your head against the medicine wall until you break through. 🙃

I do housecall grooming and had a client, whom I had groomed for several times, ask me if I could "wear something sexy" at the next appointment. I told him I couldn't groom for him anymore and his excuse was he was drunk and had just broken up with his girlfriend. :/ I'm sorry you experienced that.

There is no escape. Everything is screens and everything is located on some node of the torment nexus. Maybe the increase in adhd diagnosises is because we have created an environment that is explicitly triggering of adhd coping behaviors? And menopause for women. It all sucks.

It really sucks to see my alcoholic behavior echoed in my oldest and my autistic one basically become hypnotized by the repetitive visuals and entertained by violence. I'm getting hit more and more. It's scary. They deserve better. The other thing that sucks is everything is screens now.

I hate what screens have done to my kids. The dysregulation is insane. I try to reduce it and am met with the most intense backlash. I'm trying to extend the time between when they're done with school and when we get home because the moment they hit the door, they want screens. Tiny addicts.

When i found out this specific type of therapy existed, I nearly cried. I might have. It's at the core of a lot of my guilt and it causes me so much strife. I wanna get better and stay better. Thank you!

I keep finding excuses to avoid dating or strengthening relationships and I know a big part of that is because I don't feel like I have anything to offer anyone outside of "being supportive" and that's a recipe for disaster.

This is something u would have never done 5 years ago. I would have continued to ignore the issue and trusted in the situation to just handle itself. It never did and it never would have and it never will. I have enough sobriety now to know I can do hard things. I want to do them now. For myself.

I start new therapy tomorrow and I am ridiculously excited. It's very specific to a trauma I have been dealing with for over 2 decades and I feel like I am going to make a lot of progress. This feels like the step I've been missing and I am tied of falling on my face over and over again.

As many of you are aware, ve been navigating one of the most challenging periods of my day while waiting for dinner.
Facing baseless federal hunger brought on by not eating since lunch, fighting for the working kids of this country, and now caring for a mean toddler and helping him grow up in a world that isn't always easy. But it has also reminded me exactly why I do this work and who I do it for.
I will never stop working to eat dinner. I will never stop fighting for what is right, even when there is also some feta in the fridge. And I will never stop being so very thankful that you are by my side in this important work and that there is tahini in the pantry for dressing
