Honestly, I'd let a siren shoot me full of venom. I was going to say "to replace therapy," but honestly I'd just do it for the teeth in my arm and the pretty woman

Yeah, an experienced writer just buries herself under ten different ideas and takes so long to actually get to them that nobody notices what they were obviously inspired by

AI detection software, made out of genAI by the same dipshits making genAI, is being targeted at Black writers so that an Arday can happen but with no human able to be held accountable.

The composition also makes it clear they've learned from sources that aren't, like, American animation, which American animators/showrunners seem to think they're too good to learn from for some reason.

Very good use of the (very) short form to put the work on striking imagery to do much of the storytelling heavy lifting, since they don't have a lot of time/space.

Finished The Lovers, very good and does a lot with its limited length and space, great job at storytelling through implication. My very minor nitpick is the soundtrack/scoring is a bit blah but that's fairly whatever. Hope the studio gets funding to make more like this with greater length.

I guess my method was just "Don't do that thing again until your body wants to do it again" when it comes to music, which is... maybe not very helpful.

110

Khalida Başar, Odinslayer @dragonprose.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

I put a lot of pressure on myself, always finish projects in a very short time because of deadlines or ADHD-imposed restrictions. But maybe you need to identify the source of the burnout and act on that specifically.

110

Khalida Başar, Odinslayer @dragonprose.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

I'm so sorry to hear that 🫂 Unfortunately it does tend to get worse before it gets better. Recovering from burnout is so fucking hard, that's why it took me 7 years to recover from musical burnout. But if you fear the method isn't working for you, then maybe it's about how you used to work before?

Khalida Başar, Odinslayer @dragonprose.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

My go-to is heavily enforced rest. Don't wanna do a chore? Don't do it. Don't wanna get up? Sleep in. Wanna spend 23 hours reading lesbian web serials about girls biting each other? Go right ahead. Take the pressure off so completely that your body eventually resets and you itch to work again.

People ask me, "are we so back?" and I hate to tell them, no, I am still burnt put and recuperating, but also I am still working on stuff so. Broken Song next year? Thrill of the Hunt next year? Vampires hunting each other lesbianly through a broken Toronto next year? One can hope!

Khalida Başar, Odinslayer @dragonprose.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

And then we have a whole catalogue of more gay shit. Kickboxing lesbian vampires in urban fantasy Toronto. Polyamorous lesbian dragons in a sci-fi/fantasy world with swords and magic and ancient starships. And they are all very gay indeed.

Shameless self rec. I struggle to easily describe Moonlight Love and Witchcraft, because on the one hand it's incredibly warm and cosy and about a vampire, werewolf and with living together, on the other hand they ARE monsters and Nemo burns down the local precinct. bsky.app/profile/drag...

The manufacture of the appearance of controversy is a defining feature of the trans exclusionary movement, and it is generally manufactured through the inclusion of voices outside of the grass roots organisation of women's sports.

Trans womens participation is sports is less a controversy (as experts actively involved in it don't seem to disagree) so much as it is a battleground between people doing women's sports and people who are broadly against it.
