📣Calling All Trans Books!📣 I have one more FLL book scheduled for this year—ace + disability rep!—but for the rest of the year (and into the next one), in honor (/sarcasm) of a certain remake coming out this December, the rest of the books will be trans rep (especially by trans writers). 🌈📚 /🧵
Against a starry sky, it says "Let me know your favorite trans books! (Bonus points if it's an indie book.)" The words "trans books" are in the trans colors, and all the other words are in white. Three dragons (one in each trans color (though the white one looks more gray because it could not get lighter than that)) are also flying around.

👀Still putting queer/disabled books in free little libraries. 🧠♿️📚 This time, I did A Little Less Invisible by Maisie M. Meyers! I kept seeing this book mentioned on my timeline over and over and over, so I knew I had to pick it up. I've heard so many great things about the disability rep!
A white-purple-blue book (called A Little Less Invisible by Maisie M. Meyers) is held in front of a very pink Little Free Library.

I get this question almost *daily* now. "My book is my own ideas. I just used AI to brainstorm." Or "The book is mine. I used AI to edit." Or "I wrote the book, and I had AI translate it." They'll even say, "I didn't use AI. I just used AI to—" Stop. Keep *all* AI out of art.

With Ace Week🖤🩶🤍💜 coming up Oct 25-31st, I'm putting together an Itchio bundle called 'Asexuals on Adventures'. Main criteria: at least one main character is somewhere on the asexual spectrum (aro-ace is fine👋) and see eligibility graphic for 'Adventure'!⬇️ Sign up form: on my discord or I can DM!
Asexuals on Adventures, Coming Oct 19-31st on Itchio.

Ace flag and purple background.

Main text: 'Adventure' for the purpose of this bundle could be of a fantastical, scientific, or other speculative nature, or historical. Ideally it involves travel/ exploration, and may involve quests (from personal in scale, to save a people/ save the world.)

Eligibility & Genre:
At least one Main Character is somewhere on the asexual spectrum.
Plot-central ace (and LGBTQIA+) themes are welcome, but not required.

Adventure. There needs to be a big adventure, ideally one involving geographical travel. Eg. Exploring space/ a fantasy world, time travel, an alternate history, an underworld of demons, a society of vampires. Sexual exploration involving long distance travel and experiences of other places (eg a road trip) is welcome. Murder mysteries involving long distance travel (eg. multi city/ country investigations and some experience of those places) are welcome.

Given Adventure, I'm anticipating Fantasy, SciFi & other Speculative Fiction. Possibly Historical, mystery/ crime, romance, NSFW.

Preorders: Pre-orders are welcome, if your book releases within 5 weeks of the bundle's end date. Please state the release date in your Itch book description, so readers know when they can download your book.

Categories: YA and Adult Fiction, novellas and full length novels.

September is Bi Visibility Month, so perceiving me may be easier, as all bisexuals have disadvantage on stealth rolls until Halloween 1st.
BI REMINDER
💜Bisexual women are still bi even if they're dating men
🩷Bisexual men exist, and they're not "just gay"
💙Ace/Aro bisexuals, & Nonbinary
bisexuals exist
💜Sexual orientation is about attraction, not action
🩷Bisexuals dont need to have dated all the genders/gender identities they re attracted to - to know they're attracted to them

Q7: I agree with others to not capitalize/italicize every new word that belongs to your world. That can make the story harder to read. I treat it as we would in English—keeping it consistent. Proper nouns and titles used to address someone are capitalized, but most others are lowercased. #StetChat

Q6: Style sheets all the way! I have whole sections dedicated to characters (their age, their descriptions, their past, their pronouns, etc.) and to worldbuilding (types of creatures, currency, maps, etc.). They're really important for consistency, especially within series! #StetChat

Robin LeeAnn 🐉🖊️📚 SFF Editor @dragonediting.bsky.social · 05/08/2026
Q5: A lot of repetition. If a character/concept hasn't been seen on the page for a while (100+ pages), it's good to provide some context again. But there are times when a character/concept would be reintroduced every single chapter. Trust the readers to remember, to make the connections. #StetChat

Q4: Infodumping comes up a lot. I tell authors that readers need the base knowledge of what's going on up front when a new concept is introduced—but not everything. It's better to slowly give the readers another piece of the puzzle throughout the whole story rather than all up front. #StetChat

Q3: Great maps have the most important/most discussed places visible. They also have clear ways to show how the formation changes—where the mountains start, where the rivers round about, etc. The scale of how long it should take to get to one place to the next should also be clear. #StetChat
