Blue Mason Bee, a first in my Garden. What a stunner! #OsmiaCaerulescens

Cannot believe that just by creating a meadow lawn and a wildlife pond, I now have Muntjac Fawns coming in and out of my Hedgehog highway to nibble on the plants all day! Insane when you think what the garden was like when I moved in!

A message from our CEO. Please, donate today: www.bumblebeeconservation.org/give

Black text on a white background:
Due to rising costs and more competition for funding, we are having to scale back our work.
We’ve had to make painful decisions, including staff redundancies. With staff and resources stretched to their limit, we are now considering which vital projects may no longer be possible.
This comes when bumblebees are struggling to recover following their worst year on record.
I’ve never been more worried, or more determined to fight for a future for bumblebees.
We need to raise £50,000 right away to make sure we can continue our vital work.
If you’ve ever thought about giving a donation, we’re asking you to please, make it today.
Thank you,
We’re facing the hardest chapter in our history.
Gill Perkins,
CEO Bumblebee Conservation Trust

If there is more life on a kids nit comb than a garden, we need Government to step in and end the trend. Please sign to ban domestic use of Plastic Grass petition.parliament.uk/petitions/71...

Every day I find a new species in my newly created wildlife garden. This week, Pirate Otter Spider, Roesels Bush Cricket and Red Tailed Cuckoo Bee

Everyone says a Wildlife Pond is the #1 thing you can do for wildlife in your garden. And just a month in, I agree, a whole range of Visitors from Hedgehogs, Mallards, to Caddisfly Larvae and this Blackcap #Springwatch @bbcspringwatch.bsky.social

Disappointing that a TV show on the 270 Bee Species in Britain spends half the time promoting Honey Bees and giving air time to a hotel in London (the worst environment to have hives competing with our native Bees for scarce nectar) on plastic grass! #TheSecretLifeOfBees #Channel5

Once a blank canvas with a grand total of one Blackbird visit when I moved in, my garden is slowly filling with life!

How do we stand a chance changing the course of species decline and habitat loss when in 2025, News outlets are still posting this utter garbage...

Further to various comments from eg @markavery.bsky.social, @chrisgpackham.bsky.social and @raptorpersuk.bsky.social, about the decision by @privateeyenews.bsky.social not to take any more ££ from @wildjustice.bsky.social for their "pheasant" advert... I find myself at this week's letters page. 🧵1/8

Just 5 months in my new home and blank garden with zero wildlife is already transforming. Crocus Lawn, Log Piles, Shrub Beds, Compost Bin built, Native Hedgerow and a Rowan planted and Bee Hotels fitted. Getting there!

OK, maybe we're a tad biased, but RSPB Arne nature reserve really is something special. 😍 Get #Winterwatch on now to see it in all its glory! Who's already watching?

A frosty sunrise with soft pink skies behind silhouetted heathland.

Sunbeams breaking through trees onto a heath covered in vibrant purple heather.

A sunlit path leading through a wintery forest with light fog and yellow gorse flowers in the foreground

@davegoulson.bsky.social Glad to see more and more insect lovers on Bluesky. Probably visiting Scotland again this year to see all the majestic bees again.

Wildlife Gardening community, Photinia Red Robin, good for wildlife and pollinators or a waste of space please? Been offered a free one but trying to have maximum wildlife value in the garden.
