When I think about 2 big environmental problems of my lifetime - the ozone hole and acid rain - those problems were mostly solved because it was mandated to do so. More and more I believe that we're going to have to do the same with GHGs. Voluntary markets be damned.

I think if you're concerned about planetary boundaries you might consider not doing partnerships with the tech companies that are helping to breach those boundaries - partnerships that very explicitly and directly serve to distract and greenwash from the harms being caused by those companies

This is the nail in organic's coffin. Yes, it has benefits! I support it as a agricultural niche for those beneftis. But the yield penalty is generally 20-50%, which means you need 25-100% more land to produce the same amount of food. Organic cannot feed the world.

I didn't have a knee replacement, but I had a complex fracture of my tibial plateau just over a year ago that required 2 surgeries with 2 plates and 16 or so screws. After being non-weight bearing for 10 weeks, I had about a month of still using the walker as I did PT.

Part of the problem is the C-suite manages quarter to quarter. They hear 2030 and say they'll worry about that in 2029. They won't even think about 2050.
