Another morning, another driver regarding an amber light as "put your foot down and get through before it turns red" rather than, y'know, slow down and FUCKING STOP.

I'm guessing this actually existed in Ceefax for a short while for the gag. We didn't get a teletext TV until 1990 (with NICAM stereo too!) so wouldn't know. On the other side (Oracle) I once found a similar page gag for Sean's Show, delighted when the episode aired months later.

The new film of Sense and Sensibility is very good. I haven't seen the Ang Lee one of THIRTY-ONE years ago, so can't compare. However the source material is pretty fab, isn't it? She was a bit bloody good was Jane Austen. #FilmSky

For all he annoys, and has annoyed, me either football-wise, or with his inability to turn down an endorsement, or the ridiculous brightness of his teeth, Klopp's stances on the important things are sound. www.theguardian.com/football/202...

I absolutely know who needs to hear this, though I won’t name names. Progressive orgs need to stop pretending that “AGI” and “x-risk” are ideas to take seriously. No one is building a computer god that could go rogue and turn us into paper clips.

Andy Burnham seems to remember a different 1970s to the rest of us. Britain in 1979 was utterly broken - ravaged by unaccountable trade union power, economically stagnant, the sick man of Europe.
The 1980s saw a remarkable national recovery based on free enterprise, the rule of law and championing Western values. And it is this that our Prime Minister rails against...
