Good on the Deputy Speaker! Far too many MPs are now solely using the Chamber to ask clippable Questions. Makes a complete mockery of any debate and scrutiny

You'd hope the former *Cabinet Secretary* would understand the constitution. Burnham will command the confidence of the House, and unless that evaporates or the legal time limit comes around, he is fine. We need to move away from this implicit Presidentialism www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/202...

Done properly, this would be an excellent way to begin to rebalance power and focus away from the Westminster bubble. The media, lobbyists, and government officials regularly heading to the north west for substantial reasons is very very welcome

Re-joining the EU is not the magic fix to Britain's economy many think it is. In large parts of the UK the economy did not work for people before 2016. It has got worse, yes, but we need to be bolder and think bigger about our economic malaise & people's lack of decent living standards

The number of antisemites this brought out of the woodwork is vile. To be clear, if you think anything Israel does justifies stabbing Jews in Britain, you're the same scum who think 9/11 justifies fire-bombing mosques, or Channel crossings justifies burning asylum hotels.

A deeply frustrating and depressing article. The UK rightly extended the hand of support and solidarity to BN(O) passport holders in Hong Kong. We should never go back on that commitment, and the Government really should think again about their proposals. on.ft.com/4hpcvBt
