But you can call me Log. I run a lovely inclusive pub in Sneinton, Nottingham and do an absolutely gorgeous podcast called Regular Features with my friends. Wrote about video games for a bit. G with the LBTQ+

I just mistook a larger account for a friend i used to know in London, and responded casually, with reference to “the pub” as though they knew I ran one. The sheer presumption! The not knowing my lane! The putting someone into the position where there’s no way to respond! I must slough my skin

The fact that Ray Jay said “spook” and “slither” led me, over decades of not seeing his act, to imagine - and eventually remember! - him on his belly, squirming across the stage to the delight of an 1980s audience who couldn’t believe their eyes. So, something of a letdown youtu.be/fxWHy4f9W30?...

I’m raging at the combination lock in the clinic of British Silent Hill. Those are purely mechanical locks. You can enter the numbers in any order I *tried* to do this and was greeted with a flashing red LED, that these locks don’t have. Immersion ruined. Get a combination lock consultant in, guys

Initiated a round of THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME yesterday, where you share locations on WhatsApp and hunt each other around town. I went three stories up a glass building for a dramatic finale, and he went into a Costa. Sometimes i think im the only one taking THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME seriously

Quite pleased that my mum, who lets a lot of radicalising shit wash over her, has decided to start donating to the RNLI without any input from me. Clutching at optimistic straws yes, but at least my desperate fists aren’t empty

Does anyone remember the 16-bit Space Invaders style game which had level passwords that included TRIPTYCH and KEWPIE DOLL? It had a B-Movie style name. I learned a so many words from those level passwords. I really used to look forward to discovering the next one

Just had one of these babies snap shut on, and entirely trap, a good bit of my meaty thumb-palm intersection. I had to walk around asking someone to pull the springed hinge open without screaming into their face. A good day for self image
A tightly sprung hinge that attaches a concealed freezer door to the kitchen panel and the body of the freezer. Do not put your hand meat in these guys

As far as I know, I run the only pub where you can play @brainmage.bsky.social’s excellent game, I Will Strangle A Horse, in front of a nonplussed porcelain horse

What do I say to Rainbow Brite's nemesis Lurky, that lets him know that I always thought he was cute, and I'm not just talking to him because he's ripped now
Lurky from 1984 Rainbow Brite. A friendly spherical brown flump of a guy with untied red shoes. He has a large pendulous nose onto which a more childish person would draw a bell-end. I simply cannot see this guy being an agent for evil. He must have been a yes-man who got led astray by Murky Dismal and the Dark Princess. Absolute cutie-pieLurky from the 2014 reboot. He is virtually humanoid now, and jacked, with hair covering his whole body except his thick biceps and forearms. He has similar shoes, but they're tidy slip-ons. He has that zig-zag cartoon forearm hair that you just wanna feel on your face. The only thing stopping me saying "this guy fux" is the prominent absence of a dick. Get the other guy's nose in here and you have the whole package

Getting scab shamed by the whoo hoo guy
It’s the keep fit guy from Duolingo who goes insane when you get everything right, and qualify for hard mode in the last three questions.

He asked me to translate

Which is, in English,

You continued to work when your colleagues were going on strike?

I’m going to Asda today, with a barcode I’ve been WhatsApped by a customer. He says “the immigrants are using it to get steak for 50p”. He used it to buy 16 steaks and I’m really curious as to how it all works, what the barcode is actually for. Hate to hear this garbage from people I like

No, large stuffed bear, I’m doing my Monday errands. I don’t have time for side quests
A corridor in Nottingham’s Victoria Centre. Boarded-up shop fronts are the result of the owners trying to clear out the old market place. Only one hold-out remains, Aladdin’s Cave. The treasures for sale fill the corridor, and include household cleaning items, shopping trolleys, and a 7ft tall stuffed bear in a metal cage, posed as though he is beckoning you over.

If you want to support the little man against the evil developers - it’s a classic A-Team episode plot - visit Tink at Aladdin’s Cave. For all your various and generic needs!

Reading this 1982 comedy book about gay masculinity and the phrase “someone has to maul your tits to the brink of disaster” has stopped me dead, imagining the narrowly avoided disaster

Great news for me! I have got a big lava lamp. I’m not interested in the classic bloopy wormballs stage so much, I’m mainly into the column of tortured souls effect when heated wax over-ambitiously launches itself into the still cool water. Check out this nasty brain! What a treat

The Nottingham Campus of Oxford Business School have replaced their branded signs with these profoundly meaningless genAI billboards. Is Oxford Business School a scam? I never see anyone going in or out. But they’ve got adverts on busses. How does world work? Is anything real. Hello
A sign headlined “AI Knowledge Park”

Three pictures show typical aspirational buildings, with telltale signs of generative AI, such as a large glass coffee shop called THE NOTMGNGAM BLEND.

At the bottom is this profoundly meaningless and context free sales pitch, which has a strong honk of LLM
