🇬🇧 Do you know about Bridgy Fed, the tool that lets people from Mastodon servers on the Fediverse see and *interact* with your posts (without making another account!) ? I would love for it to be used more, so let me tell you why I think it's cool! ⏬🇫🇷 Version française dans les réponses 🇫🇷⏬ #BridgyFed

You can use Bridgy to :

Reconnect with Friends, acquaintances, creators you like or look up to, and that may have left Twitter (and other corporate social media) to settle on a "Mastodon instance", or another server of the Fediverse.

Extend the reach of your posts, as the Fediverse hosts millions of users. Some communities have an especially strong culture of sharing.

Discover new people, that may not be on Bluesky natively.

Riding the waves of migrations away from corporate billionaire-owned social media created a little chasm, that may have separated communities between the Fedi and bluesky (and people still on Twitter* and such).

Bridgy Fed fills this gap.

Picture showing a basic interaction between a Bluesky user and a Fedi user. From a Bluesky post, a brief exchange happens, without neither of the Bluesky nor the Fedi user leaving their platform of choice. At the end, I try to put it in perspective by explaining that this is interesting because it's as if this interaction happened between a Bluesky user and a Twitter user, without them leaving their platform

Digital sketch of Lyn Selensi with SUPER messy hair crouching, facing down towards the camera, and giving a V sign with her fingers. The lines are pencilly and the only color in the image is a blue done like a colored pencil.

Hi Bluesky! 🤠 I'm Allison, a character/comic artist. You might recognize my webcomic "Signs Point to Bobbie", a slice of life series about a deaf teen. It's been on hiatus for a while, but I'm working on bringing it back! For now, here's a comic from Fall 2024 🎃 #digitalart #comic #webcomic

I quite like the Kaweco Medium. The nib is wet as hell and gives me nice solid lines no matter how fast I move. It's less scratchy than the Kakuno but that's probably as much to do with the extra fine tip than anything else.

A pen and ink illustration of Natasha Winter with one arm and one leg in the air. Next to her on the page are two fountain pens, a cyan Kaweco Medium and a clear Kakuno Extra Fine.

Webtoons is a brand name. People have been calling the medium "webcomics" for about thirty or so years now. I think this distinction is important.

[Dark Magic Goblin] Pages 1 - 3 #Webcomic #DarkMagicGoblin #OC #Goblin

Agatha: About time you showed up, Zib.

Zib: Sorry, I was eating breakfast. So, what are we doing by the gate?

Agatha: I'm glad you asked that.

Agatha: We're going over the gate today. I wanna explore the forest beyond the river.

Zib: Oh, uh... is your Mom going escort us there, or...?

Agatha: No, you idiot! We're gonna go over the gate, just the two of us! We don't need Mom guiding us everywhere! Besides, she'd just make it boring anyway.

Zib: Oh... Kay... That doesn't seem like a very smart idea, Agatha. No offense, but...

Zib: Your Mom has guards on the other side of the gate...

Agatha: Yea, I know Cheeil and Zein are outside.

Agatha: We're not gonna let them see us though. We're taking a shortcut through these bushes.

Zib: ...You really thought this through, huh?

Agatha: Took you long enough...

Zib: I stepped on a squishy bug, I had to wipe it off!

Agatha: Why don't you wear any shoes?

Zib: I don't like wearing shoes, they feel really weird...

Agatha: Somehow, that's the dumbest thing I've heard you say. And you say a lot of dumb stuff. Shoes are the best.

Agatha: Anyway, check it out, I carved notches into the gate so we can climb it.

Zib: Wait, so we're actually doing this for real? I thought you were messing around with me!

Trying out a new persona design hehe 💚🩵 (she's normally a mermaid, but the pink potion keeps her a human so she can do human stuff) #art #oc #ocart #artistsona #persona #digitalart #AlexyoArt #seafoam

Chibi digital art of a humanoid girl with pale skin, back-length brown hair with a blue gradient on her left side and a green gradient on her right side, and bright seafoam-colored eyes. She is wearing a white cropped halter top with a small diamond-shaped boob window seated atop a grey design depicting a seashell and seafoam-to-white gradient light flowing pants. From the pants, a small glass bottle with a pink elixir is hanging. Text reading "Seafoam" sits below the subject.

My biggest advice for youngsters: take pictures of the places that matter to you. Your home, your bedroom, your classrooms, the stores you frequent, etc. You'll probably have plenty of pictures of the people in your life, but the spaces change and disappear, and they're a wonder to revisit.

She has some history with it.

My Sonic fan character Mach H. Hedgehog, drawn by J. Axer for me, for free, for some reason, sometime around 1999. He's a red hedgehog with spiky bangs, brown shoes and vest, a chaos emerald shard pendant, and a gun years before Shadow made it cool.
