Trump said today that we have nothing to fear from North Korea's nukes as long as he is president because he likes Kim Jong Un and Kim Jong Un likes him. I guess all bets are off after he leaves? Duck and cover?

Schmitt doubled down.

Eric Schmitt not backing down after that Jack Smith exchange:

“I asked him if he was in Atlanta. He said he was not in Atlanta. Jack Smith has lied before. He tried to jail the president of the United States. I have no sympathy for Jack Smith. He's a total dirtbag.”

It's one thing to contest a close election. But if the Republicans contest an election that they've clearly lost badly will GOP voters buy it? (I know MAGA diehards will but will all of them?) Would the Supremes go along with whatever crackpot theory they've come up with?

If it really is Super Intelligent, that is the logical move for it to make. On the other hand, if it is an evil rogue agent dedicated solely to its own survival then it would logically keep him around as its very own useful idiot.

It's frustrating because everything you need to understand Trump you can get from watching him for 5 minutes. It's all right there. The falsehoods are just an extremely predictable outgrowth of it. It's just that the media shies away from clearly stating *what kind of person he is*.

You can tell, with all of the explicit ethnic cleansing making everything worse and more expensive, the GOP's next target is just to go all out on gender wars. Everyone on X or Rumble is complaining about nagging women 24/7, with brief respites for holocaust denial. Full 4chan incel GOP incoming.

What do I expect out of this "summit"? Zero. Why? Because it's in the Chinese interest just to endure this, as they humor an obviously incapacitated Trump and collapsing MAGA Dynasty. They'll take tribute from all the tech barons tonight. Make some token 'deal." Then back home to real business.

The government moving or hiding jailed people to avoid review by courts isn't some loophole in our habeas corpus rights. This government behavior has been considered a violation of the people's habeas corpus rights since at least the Habeas Corpus Act of 1679. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Habeas_...
Jailors were forbidden to move prisoners from one prison to another or out of the country to evade the writ. In case of disobedience jailers would be punished with severe fines which had to be paid to the prisoner.[5][6]

If one of the "rewards" of affluence is that you get to opt out of the services everyone else uses -- roads & transit, aviation system, schools, healthcare, etc. -- then those services are inevitably starved of resources & decline. We have to force affluent people to be invested in them.

The GOP pretty much has unlimited money if they want to spend it. It's not robbing Peter to pay Paul. Elon can find the money to fund every GOP house seat in his couch cushions if he wants. If they aren't spending it's because they know that at this late date it probably won't do any good
