Some of the studies I made of the extinct megatooth shark Otodus megalodon, for an upcoming commission I can hopefully share soon. Megalodon is known almost exclusively from fossil teeth, which have not been found articulated with jaws.

So a sort of successful mission for Starship Mission 14. They didn't check all the boxes because of Raptor engine failures, but they deployed the 26 Starlink Satellites and achieved orbit, though not for as long as planned. It's clear that the Raptor engine is still a thorn in the company's side.

Joubin's squid (Joubiniteuthis portieri) is a funky, little squid that looks like one of those head massagers. It has a max mantle length of 9 cm and a long tail which is thought to mimic sinophores. They are also the closest relatives to the even more lanky bigfin squids (Magnapinna) #SQUIDtember

Pterosaurs: An Artistic History in Four Parts (Art by Joseph Smit, Zdenek Burian, John Sibbick, and @markwitton.bsky.social)

A mixed group of pterosaurs, all with slick, featureless skin and pointed, swooping wings. Some soar with outstretched limbs, others cling frog-like to a stony cliff, and others perch with their feet flat on the rock.

A Pteranodon with a plump, bat-like torso and short, stumpy legs drops a mouthful of fish to a group of sprawled, leathery-skinned young which are strewn about the top of a stony seaside cliff. In the distance, two other giant pterosaurs can be seen soaring toward the sea below.

Two huge ornithocheirid pterosaurs with rounded crests at the end of their snout soar over coastal waves, while a smaller, duller pterosaur with no crest feeds its well-developed youngster in a bird-like fashion.

Two enormous azhdarchids with slender builds and erect, upright stances scavenge the carcass of a dead Triceratops beside a pond. One stands tall, while the other is mid-launch, carrying a strip of meat in its beak.
