5The Concavenator's carcass floats due to the buildup of gases; soon its rib cage will burst, and it will sink, giving rise to what, 125 million years later, will become “Pepito,” one of the most incredible fossils ever found in Spain

Well, I'm updating the Spinosaurus mirabilis model because the first version I uploaded in February is pretty bad—especially the proportions, which are a mess. So I'm taking advantage of some new projects to give it a fresh look

Sometimes I get caught up in complicated compositions with lots of elements. This was going to be one of them, but I was completely stuck—not realizing that the solution was a simple render with three heads, a piece of meat, a pretty sky, a bunch of flies, and some editing

One of the things I haven't done since I created my Bluesky account is share my Instagram profile. You can find me there as @ferrutxo —with the added bonus of being able to view posts in chronological order, plus I've pinned the downloadable content!!

What do you do when you have to tackle a pop culture superstar like the Allosaurus? Everyone knows it… so many people have recreated it that it’s hard to offer anything new. The solution, at least for me, is to try to do the best job possible and hope people like it

One thing I really like about my progress as an illustrator is that I no longer have to rely so much on backlighting in heavily edited images to tell a story. On the left, the old version; on the right, the new one

A group from Morelladon advances through a gallery forest following the riverbed. The march should be led by the large adults, in this case a female flanked by two males, but some rowdy juveniles, still sporting their juvenile coloration, have moved ahead of the group

Listen to this person! Only top-quality illustrations (as good as I can make them, of course), completely original, and with no generative AI involved. All 3D renders and photobashing...

A massive Delapparentia is left behind after getting stuck in the mud. It’s not a natural trap; he’s simply very old, and his weakness and difficulty moving do the rest on a surface that the herd has crossed without any trouble—a herd that will leave him behind without a moment’s hesitation

A sudden blizzard during the cold season has scattered a herd of Magnamanus; now that the danger has passed, they are trying to reunite by calling out through the forest.Their calls and the colorful “flag” running down their backs aid in communication and recognition among members of the species

A group of Hesperonyx that had been listening for sounds coming from the thicket begins to emit alarm calls and confront the source—a young, solitary male Ceratosaurus. Although Ceratosaurus is a carnivore that specializes in ambushes, in this case he is merely passing through

It's Pride Month, so I made this illustration. Yeah, it's because there are rainbows—that's the whole point of the tribute. It's not like I racked my brain over it, but whenever I want to show support or celebrate these things, I always get this “I-don't-know-what-to-do” feeling.

Two Draconyx sleep in a small hollow where the vegetation shields them from prying eyes. Draconyx individuals can rest for short periods without needing to lie down, but to achieve deep, restorative sleep they must lie down for at least a couple of hours in a protected area

A family group of pareisactus enjoy the river during the hottest hours of the day. The water is not only used for drinking, but also provides an opportunity for a refreshing swim that helps control parasites and serves as an activity to establish and reinforce the different roles within the group

Finished models of the small Iberian lambeosaurs Blasisaurus and Arenysaurus. We have little general information about their crests, so I’ve opted for a very standard, basic model in the absence of fossils that would give us a more accurate picture.

Morelladon was the first dinosaur genus described in Morella. Although this city was one of the first places where dinosaur remains were discovered in Spain, it had to wait more than a century to have its own dinosaur, and finally, in 2015, the description of this ornithopod was published
