University is starting up soon and so my good half a month of mapping might have to come to an end, but before that, here's a Korea I drew recently

Another little map I started in a cafe as well as a duck I met ☕ #cartography #mapmaking

Another map done! As you might be able to tell I'm a sucker for drawing mountains and trees. I bought some calligraphy pens recently as well so hopefully soon I'll be able to make use of those on my maps for labels and other stuff. Just need to learn to use them first ✨ #cartography #mapmaking

A sketchpad held out with greenery in the background. On the pad there's a black and white of a mountainous region with lots of trees and hills. The area is costal and there are large jagged cliffs. Up at the top of the map there are less mountains, more forests, and a few rivers that flow into the sea.

Been struggling to find the motivation to work on maps lately, but yesterday I found myself messing around with pen and paper in a café and that got me back to working on a map today! Quite happy with what I made 😊 #cartography #mapmaking

A black and white map of a fantasy map drawn on paper. The coastlines are rough and jagged, and mountains dominate the bottom left portion of the map. The heights are hugged by forests.

Recently I've been reading and enjoying James Islington's Hierarchy series and so I decided to make my own version of the map as well! Hoping to finish The Strength of the Few today. Only a hundred pages or so left to go 😄

Started reading James S.A. Corey's The Mercy of Gods yesterday and it's been a hoot! Really loving it so far, especially the build-up of tension leading up to Part 2 of the book ✨ I'll have to get around to reading The Expanse at some point as well.

Finished up a black and white commission a couple of days ago and both the client and I are quite pleased with the map. Often I feel like I'm harder to please than the people I work with, but on this occasion I'm thrilled with the final results! #map #mapmaking #mapmaker #cartography #fantasymap

Self-promotion is always hard to do, and something I often forget to do too. But here's just a lil reminder that I have a few things over in my Ko-Fi shop available if you should like to toss some coins my way (and many, many thanks in advance if you do choose to 💚) ko-fi.com/apmaps/shop

A grid of six images with a green label of a price in the bottom right corner of each, and part of the descriptive text beneath each. The top row have three colored maps: from left to right - a town map, a village map and a regional map. The second row has a small contintent map in sepia tones, and two solo journaling RPGs.

I often forget how far I've come with my art. The first is from April 2025, the second is from February 2023! Do you guys have any old/new art you could share, to show how much you've improved? 🥰 feel free to repost, so more people share their wonderful #art!

A drawing of an eclectus crab. It has a cube shaped pink body, with a flat cap and two eyes sticking up from the middle. The left (right side, from the crab's perspective) legs and claw are bright yellow, and the right (left side, from the crab's perspective) are dark purple. Its yellow crushing claw is much larger than its purple claw.

The weather outside might be bright and sunny but this map and its mountains and hills are going to end up a lot shadier today! #fantasymap #wip #mapmaking #humanmade

Finally at the shading stage! The linework is done, for now (I'll probably add a bunch of labels later once I've thought of names) so now on to adding some shade to bring some life into it before moving on to the colour stage. Feeling pretty good about this map so far! #wip #fantasymap #humanmade

Writing sprints are such a wonderfully effective way of getting work done. I'm a bit behind on my #novelember goals since I kind of got horribly distracted as November started, but with a bit of sprinting I'm at 3k words and around 4 more sprints should be enough to catch up.

A flat beachy environment, with a light blue sky and a white sun beaming down. To the left is a silvery-blue sea, with clumps of black kelp on the surface. To the right is a hilly area, with small red bushes and tall, thin, pink trees. Along the beach is a row of giant mussel-like creatures, sticking out from the sand.

A dark green swamp environment. Three large, cylindrical rocks stick out from the ground. There are glowing puddles of water around the bottom left corner, with small grasses growing around. The rocks are covered in mosses and small red plants, with a large green plant growing out from behind the leftmost rock.

Casilla Maw, a shark-person. She is floating in front of a dark blue background. She is wearing a black and red corset around her waist, as well as a yellow crystal on her snout. Thin strands of kelp flow from the crystal.

She is telekinetally controlling water flowing around and in front of her.

A large, dark blue and purple whale. The whale has six small eyes on the side and on top of its head. It has two pairs of large flippers, and a small tail. A small jellyfish with long tentacles is stuck to its back, its tentacles reaching down its mouth and around the body.
