I was lucky enough to meet Tim recently and tell him that when I worked at Westwood Studios, the people who remembered him coming to film his part in Red Alert 2 had nothing but joy in talking about him. He liked that. At this event, he spent all night upstaging Leslie Ann Warren. A titan. RIP.

I kid you not - my reaction to that Strokes album now is the same as it was when I first heard it 25 years ago... "Is that it?" I'd heard endless hype about how it was going to change my life, and in the end, I heard a passable, if somewhat forgettable, rock album. Dismemberment Plan for me.

Watched the first episode of "Lanterns" and genuinely enjoyed the utter hell out of it. It's smart, snarky and still feels like it's in tune with the better runs of Green Lantern. Can't wait for the rest of it.

Every so often, I still wonder what Hickman originally had planned for Acts 2 & 3, if House of X was meant to be Act 1, Part One, and Inferno was meant to be Act 1, Part Two, before the rest of the writers convinced editorial to stay in the Krakoa era for a lot longer.

Saw "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" today, as to avoid spoilers, and honestly? It's probably the best Marvel movie in years. There's some odd dangling threads at the end, but nothing unforgiveable. If you like Spider-Man as a character at all, definitely recommend going and seeing it writ large.

I couldn't disagree harder if I tried. I felt like CODY was Mogwai finding itself, Rock Action was them embracing it, and The Hawk Is Howling was them basking in it. The band's nowhere near 'legacy' act - and if you think what they're doing now isn't trailblazing, we don't hear the same thing.

I think I felt that way after Book 5 of the Incarnations of Immortality books, although I did, sadly, read 6-7 when they came out, out of curiosity mostly, which only cemented the feeling that I was really done after 5, and should really rather have not.
