I don't recall any singing. I do recall that it was post-apocalyptic with accidental time travel and generally weird and not a particularly satisfying read. I'm fairly certain it _was_ TEMH but I'd like to get confirmation from someone who actually remembers or (even better) has a copy.

That entire subplot stuck in my mind because (as I recall it) it's uncomfortably rapey, but now I wonder if my memory is playing tricks on me. I've spent about an hour trying to find a summary of the novel, but the ones I found (Goodreads and the like) are too brief and vague.

Apple don't do major releases in July, they do them in the fall. The last major release of MacOS was Tahoe (26.0 / 25A) on September 15, 2025. The July 27 release was a minor maintenance release (26.6 / 25G). The next major release (Golden Gate / 27.0 / 26A) is currently in beta.

And fwiw most of the German-speaking part speaks German because it was granted to Belgium as war reparations after WWI. They have historically not been treated particularly well.
