"Is the AI concious, is it like a human, is it a machine god to be?" Insane questions from the culturally Christian. LLMs are Sumerian type demons that can be summoned, bound and charged with tasks. They exist in their own cateogory.

Amateurs! The Slovenian government scrapped subsidies for electric vehicles, reduced all taxes for fuel to a minimum, and will subsidise the increase of fuel prices (and buying of new tyres) for farmers and truckers

My heart sank a bit when I heard Ted Lasso say something like "I don't even know how to download apps in this country" in S04E04 cause I think it may mean the Cupertino suits now have a way of forcing their idiotic politics onto the writing team, which the latter can't say no to.

The German environment minister earlier this year confidently claimed Germans would buy German and European cars anyway. Almost 50% of plug-in hybrid sales in Europe are now Chinese. Turns out growing Chinese car quality meeting a 20-30% undervalued exchange rate matters! Who could've known? 7/

What’s up with CATL issuing a slightly confusing press release where they conflate containers with modules, and a bunch of publications reporting 30MWh 42-ton sodium CONTAINERS as a result? Makes other manufacturers look silly, which they’re anything but.

This feels like a case study of something bigger: it's almost always safe for policymakers to individualise issues. I suspect this hits transport too: nobody ever got fired for building a housing estate and simply running a road to it and assuming everyone will drive individual cars

@siracusa.mastodon.social.ap.brid.gy Re your AI argument that people don’t like the product. People are mot oblivious to the BS nature of many existing jobs and would love to have them automated. They, however, do not care for the proposed revenue sharing model where capital gets all the spoils.

Plug-and-play control framework for adjusting panel tilt in agrivoltaics
A Cornell University research team developed a control framework that simultaneously considers past and future conditions when determining solar panel tilt angle. The researchers told pv magazine it is designed to be plug-and-play, allowing for software developers and solar operators to incorporate their optimization algorithms directly into the framework.

Important also to translate this into costs of gas power in LNG-dependent markets. At $10/mmbtu, pretty much the minimum that LNG can be had for in the best times, a high-utilization plant will need $100/MWh electricity to cover its costs. That’s about 25% above solar with a 4hr battery nowadays.
