We were told by everyone around us, including the “strangers” in and out of his room at MSKCC hospital in NYC, that last weekend, of the profound love they saw and felt between us. Derek was / is my home. He is extraordinary💜

But I am grateful he is now at peace and no longer suffering. I have peace that nothing was left unsaid between us.

Derek asked me to reach out and express his thanks to all the kind and caring souls who shared this space with him, those who supported him and encouraged him. You all meant so much to him. This past year has been relentless for us. He was the bravest of men…

Mandarin Oranges and French onion soup are nope not on this tray. Pierogies with tomato sauce are a hell no and thus ends another glorious evening meal at The Rehab Facility. 🤮🤢

I think that I shall never see A poem lovely as a tree. A tree whose hungry mouth is prest Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast; A tree that looks at God all day, And lifts her leafy arms to pray; —Joyce Kilmer #bookwormsat

A deciduous tree shot from a worms-eye view.

"Falling Stars" (Sternschnuppen) by the German artist Franz von Stuck, painted around 1912.

Two figures sit together at the bottom center on a grassy, emerald-green ridge. The figures represent the artist himself and his wife, Mary. The woman on the left wears a pale, luminous dress, her head tilted directly upward toward the sky in wonder. The man on the right, dressed in dark clothing, sits closely beside her, his posture leaning back slightly as he shares the stargazing experience. Behind the couple, dark, undulating hills stretch horizontally across the lower third of the canvas, separating the intimate human moment from the massive sky above.

RICK RUBIN on why Hollywood keeps making soulless movies: "So many big movies are just not good because they're being made by people trying to make something they think someone else is going to like. That's not how art works. That's commerce."

The Fangorn LOTR vibes were strong from this ancient forest…

Beautiful sunbeams shine through the ancient trees of this forest in Madeira. Moss covered branches stretch out.

The forest asked for nothing, so I stayed. ❤️💔 #nature #forest #photography

A forest scene with tall trees illuminated by low sunlight filtering through the woodland. Sunbeams are visible between the trunks, highlighting patches of foliage and the forest floor. The foreground is darker, while mist or haze in the background makes the light rays more visible among the trees.

Just woke up thinking I had to pee but there was no urinal. Called the nurse for one only to discover the IV in my right hand had torn free and I was bleeding rather profusely. Covered in blood and needed a full upper body wash. Oh what fun we are having tonight.
