Exactly that - Chapek came in and destroyed all the goodwill because he thought he was the only person ballsy enough to cut corners and charge the guests more but he was coasting on the effects on NOT doing that. He has no concept of brand health or reputation. Still doesn't. And bragging about it!!

I think the Chapek book is gonna have some long term damage on the Disney brand. The thing is that probably everyone in SoCal at some point was either a passholder, knew a passholder, or aspired to be a passholder. The #1 article on OC Register and seems to be going viral in ways not expected.

By the way, the proposed one-time tax on billionaires that the billionaires are spending millions trying to defeat? Five percent. $50 million is 5% of one billion. They are spending more than that to keep it from going back to the people they've stolen their obscene wealth from.

By his own admission this was something the old guard never considered doing - but it's not because they hadn't thought about it, it's because they genuinely cared about the product and didn't want to sacrifice core tenets like service and world-class creative to appease shareholders. He sucks

He is not a consumer, so he has no concept of consumer behavior. He lucked into working for a brand that spent decades building its reputation on how it treated people, and wants a parade because he thinks he invented exploiting people to maximize revenue.

In Chapek's book, he prides himself on being a "disruptor" which is something he probably heard at a conference once and now wears like a badge of honor. Most of the behaviors he "disrupted" were unwritten contracts between a company and their consumer.

The illuminated rock formations of Ornament Valley rise in the background. Visible signage includes "Radiator Springs" and "Slow" with a speed limit of 25 mph. The streaming model doesn't fit the current capitalist model of profitability gauged by growth. After you've found your plateau of subscribers, you have to raise prices to show growth. Nothing in nature constantly grows like that, except bacteria in a petri dish, right before a major collapse.

Adjacent parking areas are filled with cars, and nearby roads run past the complex. The photograph captures the hotel's exterior architecture and surrounding environment from above.
