Incredible. First Secretary Mullin claimed that DHS had identified 15,903 noncitizens on Nevada’s voter roll. Then DHS officials told a skeptical Nevada, no no no, that’s just people we flagged. Here are the names of 185 people we KNOW aren’t citizens. All 185 were citizens. DHS got 100% wrong.
When the Department of Homeland Security sent Nevada a list of 185 names last month that it claimed identified noncitizens who had been improperly allowed to register to vote, state election officials got to work.
On Tuesday, the state sent a strongly worded rebuke to the federal government: Every single person on the list was a lawful citizen.
"As for the 185 individuals, our records indicate that they were citizens," Greg D. Ott, a deputy attorney general in Nevada, wrote, according to a copy of a letter sent to Department of Homeland Security officials obtained through open records requests.
"You have provided nothing of substance to suggest otherwise."Following the meeting, Ms. Vogt sent a clarifying email to Nevada officials. "I also wanted to be sure I clarified that we did not reduce the 15,903 to 185," she wrote. "We've manually reviewed some of the 15,903 and confirmed 185 are not U.S. Citizens."
Now, Nevada officials are saying even that 185 number is wrong. They also took issue with a letter D.H.S. sent them in early September, in which the agency reiterated its initial claims about nearly 16,000 noncitizens on the rolls and pressured state officials to review each case in a letter to Nevada officials in early September.

I’ve gone my whole life, never seeing a professional journalist breach “background” rules—but Trump 2 has now caused two such breaches. First was revealing the White House briefing of the situation preceding Bill Clinton taking a decoy plane. Now this. Honestly, good calls for both instances.

Only tangentially related, but I still had to mention it because what do you MEAN that the first government to constitutionally guarantee women the right to vote was the Pitcairn Islands, in 1838, in their constitution written on the back of a napkin by a passing Royal Navy officer.

House is a privilege—not a right. The President has set out his factual findings and provided
Plaintiffs an opportunity to contest this decision by 5:00 PM Friday, September 25, 2026.
Plaintiffs ask this Court to enjoin the President to provide them with immediate, continued
access to the White House complex, contrary to his personal judgment, on three purported grounds.
All fail. First, the President’s actions are lawful under the First Amendment. While the D.C. Circuit
has held that some areas of the White House grounds constitute a nonpublic forum, Sherrill v.
Knight, 569 F.2d 124 (D.C. Cir. 1977), that decision is wrong and should be overruled. But even
under Sherrill, the President’s actions must be sustained because the President has “compelling

anyway, notwithstanding Plaintiffs’ speech criticizing the President—indeed, the President has not
revoked access to other outlets that have equally criticized the President. Third, Plaintiffs are
unlikely to prevail on their due process claims because, even if they have a constitutional right to

The “push” for AI “safety regulations” is not what it appears to be. The AI tech bros don’t want restraints on their behavior—they want a legal safe harbor. So if they meet some very low bar, they and their company get complete legal immunity no matter what their hack-bot did this time.

Vaccine conspiracism is overwhelmingly clustered among the religious, white and affluent. It’s a function of conservative ideology and bad faith media. Being nicer to MAHA types will not ‘bring them into the fold,’ it will only increase their sense of entitlement.
Objective: Strengthening of antivaccination movements in recent decades has coincided with unprecedented increases in the incidence of some communicable diseases. Many intervention programs work from a deficit model of science communication, presuming that vaccination skeptics lack the ability to access or understand evidence. However, interventions focusing on evidence and the debunking of vaccine-related myths have proven to be either nonproductive or counterproductive. Working from a motivated reasoning perspective, we examine the psychological factors that might motivate people to reject scientific consensus around vaccination. To assist with international generalizability, we examine this question in 24 countries. Methods: We sampled 5,323 participants in 24 countries, and measured their antivaccination attitudes. We also measured their belief in conspiracy theories, reactance (the tendency for people to have a low tolerance for impingements on their freedoms), disgust sensitivity toward blood and needles, and individualistic/hierarchical worldviews (i.e., people's beliefs about how much control soci hould have over individuals, and whether hierarchies are desirable). Results: In
order of magnitude,
antivaccination attitudes were highest among those who (a) were high in conspir-
atorial thinking, (b) were high in reactance, (c) reported high levels of disgust toward blood and needles, and (d) had strong individualistic/hierarchical worldviews
. In contrast, demographic variables (including
education) accounted for nonsignificant or trivial lev
f variance. Conclusions: These data help
identify the "attitude roots" that may motivate and sustain vaccine skepticism. In so doing, they help shed light on why repetition of evidence can be nonproductive, and suggest communication solutions to that problem.
Keywords: vaccination, conspiracy beliefs, health communication,
