Three notes: 1) The police board once again failed to meet the legal requirement to post its agenda a week in advance. 2) The board has stopped posting its in camera agendas. You couldn’t usually glean much, but it was something. 3) When VicPD updated its website, it erased all agendas before 2025.

The provincial government has an entire website devoted to posting data, and so does VicPD. It’s telling what they choose not to release, or fight to keep secret. No VicPD press release is going to tell you that an officer says they threatened to tase someone accused of littering in 2023.
Screenshot of text from province. Reads in part: Consultations: Victoria PD was consulted and requested the records be withheld in their entirety. Recommendations: Access denied pursuant to sections 15, 16, and 22.Screenshot of email from province. Text reads: “Each access to information request is assessed individually, and severing decisions may vary depending on the specific content of the records and the context in which they were created. In this case, the severing reflects the outcome of consultations conducted as part of the review process.”

Wilson has since gone on to become the chief of the Victoria Police Department, and Woywada said that raises additional concerns given her promotion to leadership.

“If the leadership doesn't make information management a priority, the organization won't,” he said. “So it is concerning.”

VicPD spokesperson Tiffany Parton said Wilson is “not in a position to respond to questions regarding the administration or processing of a freedom-of-information request made to another police agency.”
