When your barber accidentally leaves out a decimal resulting in a 2000% tip rather than a 20% tip... (they called back right after it happened and refunded the entire cost of the haircut so I am assuming an honest mistake)

Okay so @defector.com has had an odd glitch since the site redesign a couple of weeks back where the wrong photo and headline are often put together on the main page and I was going to ask them about fixing it but this just happened and as far as I'm concerned they have to leave it as is.

More progress today! And it's the sort of progress that really feels like it. The neck is starting to take shape and I'm really happy with how it's turning out. I can't wait to get it to a point where it's ready for finish!

For years I've been telling people that I can't draw, I have no artistic talent at all. And I realized recently that that's bullshit, I just haven't out much effort into learning. So. Here's my latest effort at learning, a classic art student exercise:

A pencil drawing, upside down, copying a drawing of Igor Stravinsky by Pablo Picasso. It's supposed to force your right brain hemisphere to take over your left or something. It's a popular exercise for new art students. Above it on a tablet screen is the original drawing, below it is my attempt which actually looks ok except for Igor's fat head and mangled hands.

How cool is it that we all got to be alive on Earth at the same time as Dolly Parton? I think that's just wonderful. Both of my kids loved getting their "Dolly books" in the mail every month, even if it was one we already had. She simply was someone who devoted her time on Earth to doing good.

I have a few shows I'm watching/rewatching at the moment and the funny thing is that Reacher isn't the largest man in my current rotation, it's this guy (he's 6'8")

Greg Davies, the titular Taskmaster from the show of the same name. He's a bearded white man with glasses in his 60s sitting on an ornate red and gold throne. He looks like the sort of guy Reacher would beat up several dozen other people to get to in the season finale.
