If we want time zones to represent the thing we want intend it to, we need to turn those zones much more diagonal to match the actual direction the sun paths relative to the earth.

This is a map of the us with diagonal areas highlighting the time of sunrise compared with the lines for the time zones, which are mostly vertical. The diagonal highlights show Western areas of a time zone have a much later sunrise time, specifically in Michigan and Illinois, as well as North Dakota.

You can have a negative opinion of his writing or not like his stories. Different folks different strokes and all that. But plenty of other companies do the collector edition thing. I see a lot of releases of classics, or some really great ones from Wraithmarked or the Folio Society.

Sanderson's kickstarters are for collectors editions. This current one is a collection of children's books and a single new novel. All the books release through traditional publishing within months. In this case The Fires of December will release in conjunction with his convention, this December.

New Nightbringer model complete! Went more ham on the edge highlighting than usual, really wanted all the details in the new models cloak to pop.

I've never called one of these hotlines, but the quote from Oathbringer has gotten me through some dark times. I have gotten some shit before for liking Brandon Sanderson but I love that he made a challenge coin with the national mental health crisis hotline and is giving it away for free.

A challenge coin that reads: "THe most important step is always the next one", and the image is a QR code that navigates to resources for those that might be in crisis.
