The air of something being off in the beautiful pastoral village is really unsettling, another great first episode. The Target novelisation was my first, so I always have a soft spot for what is ultimately a nonsensical plot (and I was gutted that Kraals aren’t actually green).

Nowhere near as bad as reputation claims - the first episode is great, Alan Lake is having a ball (and probably explains why there’s no scenery, he ate it all). And it’s only on this reviewing that I realised that isn’t Richard O’Sullivan (RIP).

Still no idea what the fuck is going on with this one. Pretty though.

Lord Charles and Ray Allen for me, both looked terrifying.

That certainly wouldn’t be a challenging one.

The bar of expectation has been set so low for these films.

That skull poster stayed on the wall of my dad’s harbour office noticeboard until well into the early 2000s, and possibly longer (was still there when he retired). Gave me the heebie jeebies every time I saw it.

Good to see love for Regeneration - great album, quite a change of direction when they left Setanta (but a welcome one).

The bar for a conviction is beyond a reasonable doubt. If you want to raise it to beyond all doubt, just to satisfy a sense of vengeance (and you’d need to, for all crimes) then you’ll be lucky to ever see a conviction, let alone an execution. Which would help the prison capacity crisis though.

I never noticed the Resistance stereotype sat behind Duggan before - only thing missing is the string of onions.

He wasn’t wrong about Doctor Who, that’s for sure (although it certainly did pick up in the following seasons).

I love that last line. Barker just made it all look so effortless, didn’t he?

Oh how lovely to see her looking so well - my late father was a family friend, and used to look out for Isla’s mum up in Moray back in the day.

On the BBC News Katya Adler has just described Germany, where the far right AFD keep winning elections, as entering 'uncharted political territory'. Hmmm. Where Germany is concerned I think that territory is pretty well charted.

It was jarring to see her literally painted over white (and if I recall correctly, redubbed as Irish?). It was strange, since as a child I always just took her to be Tom’s (and the house’s) owner.
