RIP Marjoe Gortner - on Friday I was recommending someone track down his Oscar-winning documentary, Marjoe, and the brilliant diner-set When You Comin’ Back Red Ryder?, neither of which are easy to see, sadly. This 2022 BBC interview is worth a listen. www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...

Doing my bit for Suffolk tourism and Lovejoy fandom. My review of The Bull in Long Melford, where an episode was set and my mate stayed in the room Ian McShane slept during filming, has hit 100 views. Sadly, few staff knew of its place in Lovejoy history or had heard of Charlie Gimbert.

Stopping off for a coffee en route to the charity shop to hand in a few DVDs. Recently upgraded Thunderbolt and Lightfoot to Blu, partly for the Lem Dobbs commentary, but mainly because it’s a fantastic film.

Somehow ended up watching a 1985 episode of The Equalizer starring J.T. Walsh on what would have been his 83rd birthday. Luis Guzman steals his luggage, then Adam Ant nicks his daughter.

Hard to believe The Lowdown can get much better in season two, but the presence of Tommy Lee Jones might just do it - seems a good time to rewatch season one.
