Why Davey the Axe you ask and not Davey the Ax? A pointed question indeed with a bit of an edge. In short, Axe is the only proper spelling if, like me, you are an aficionado of Samuel Johnson, author of 1755 A Dictionary of the English Language and noted English wit and raconteur. Noah’s the Ax guy.

The Cassandra analogy is apt but misses that the bad faith rightwing movement was in plain sight - relying on a decades long campaign beginningpost Watergate with the Powell memo. Bringing in Murdoch, controlling media, court packing, money unleashed in politics, contrived culture wars. But ignored.

They will always cheat. That is why DNC's 51% strategy for Pres elections is so precarious. In a close run with margins thin, jiggling count in a county or two can turn the results in that state and the EC. And the nation is vulnerable because DNC has abandoned so many states, relying on a handful.
