Call me crazy. But F1 would be better off having 12 permanent venues on the calendar, with the other 12 venues rotating in and out. The likes of Melbourne, Silverstone and Montreal are permanent, long term deals. The likes of Sepang, Zandvoort and Hockenheim alternate in and out. Keeps it fresh.

I think alongside USA 2005 and Hungary 2021, this might be the dumbest start to an F1 race that I've seen in 27 years of watching F1. 😅 #BahrainGP

Would be quite something if everyone went into the effort to get this race on... only for the rain to cancel the race. #BahrainGP

Currently doing a bit of travelling between jobs. Wednesday morning took me to Stonehenge for the Autumn Equinox. Just stunning. (I don't post much publicly these days, so just dropping in 😊)

The state of this. A 14-year-old story, reheated to look like breaking news and embellished with gory detail, spat out across Reach's national and local news sites and aggregated into AOL feeds. There are still ways of funding journalism. This should not be one of them.

The idea of going fully to an exam based system though punishes those in society whose brains simply struggle to handle them. I'm neurodivergent, and coursework was pretty much a lifesaver for me at A Levels. The moment I went into exams at A Levels for maths, my brain pretty much just froze.

Lovely read, Scott. Eurovision had a similar impact on me. I resonated with Nemo's The Code more than I ever expected. I wrote about it here as part of my autism diagnosis - daveymn.substack.com/p/2024-the-y... Hoping to get your book this week for reading later this month. 😊

Have the British public always been so self centred? I’m staggered by how many people I’ve seen saying ‘I don’t use buses so what good is that?’ Or ‘pubs aren’t for me so who cares?’ Millions of people do use each and they are both pretty vital for our economy and society

Seen a few people saying rough sleeping policy isn’t aimed at median public concern. Quite apart from any policy/moral imperative it really is - rough sleeping comes up time again in focus groups as one of the most visible signs of Broken Britain and community decline!

I'm sure the VSC's are being thrown legitimately. But feel more needs to be done to communicate the 'why' to the fan, otherwise it starts to feel artificial. #BelgianGP

Not a fan of VSC's being thrown without ample explanation on the F1 TV World Feed, sorry. What debris was there to necessitate a marshal going onto the circuit? Feels amateur. And I say this as a Leclerc fan... #BelgianGP

This isn't accurate. The overnight audience data includes those who watched before 02:00 the following morning. The actual live figure was closer to 5 million.

I don't see the problem with what he posted, personally. His main work is IndyCar. If F1 fans still follow Will, that's on them, not Will. His job is to hype up IndyCar. Job done. If F1 fans fall for it instead of paying attention to Will's current job, that's not Will's problem.

Just to add to point 2: I don't buy some of the discourse that the TV direction is the worst in a long time, though. I remember watching Canada a decade or so ago with crowd and celebrity cutaways during the lead battle as well as intrusive virtual advertising. Thankfully we're not near those days.

Few random F1 thoughts watching the #CanadianGP. 1. Lovely to have F1 cars that look racey rather than big and bulky. 2. The F1 TV feed has not adapted to 2026. The TV feed is trying to do too much and ultimately falling short. 3. This is Antonelli's to lose. Even before Russell's DNF.
